Monday morning, and we're all back at work, I guess !!! What a weekend, 27 degrees (go global warming...) at Skegness (Butlins) I was swimming in the sea, and at fortress Elland Road we kept our first clean sheet of the season, and won against one of our bogey teams. I watched the highlights late on the beeb, and thought we played well. Four games unbeaten and counting... There have been a few articles over the weekend concerning the team and Graysons position, whether we have been too harsh on him. Personally, I didn't think it was rocket science playing a centre back as a centre back, and bringing back to the fold an experienced right back who had'nt been given much of a chance. Have any of you done anything interesting over the weekend? Lonergran, White, Lees, Clayton, Snoddy & Mcormack all had really good games on Saturday imo. For me Tom Lees looked class...kept Benjani pretty quiet all game...dont remember him having a shot at goal?? Certainly more comfortable at CB, and looked good at theside of O'Dea who was steady. Now we have got in to our stride...players are gelling well, andthe confidence looks to be back in a few players...Snoddy mainly, but the defence too! A clean sheet, for the 1st time this season i think...definatly a positive. Marching on...
Mornin Jud, well put, lovin your profile pic, what a movie... Lees has just signed a contract extension to 2015
Yeah im feeling a bit Gangsta this morning like awesome film...1 of my faves for sure!!! I know yeah, great that we've nailed him down a bit......not that contracts are worth **** anymore, but at least its a positive move!!! Id love to see a bit more strength/experience added to the defence! Maybe Titus Bramble could do a job for us?
Bramble's got his fair share of problems at the moment, would like to see a towering 6' 3' plus experienced defender around 25 yo.
I couldnt believe how confident lees looked, He won pretty much every header! Portsmouth where dire in the first half but looked decent from the start of the second, Keogh and McCormack work well together and are lively, I like the squad we have
Morning all Don’t rate Bramble at all, switches off to easily & would probably get used to doing it in our back four. I wouldn’t like to see Grayson change that back line at all now. Let them gel, its clearly the best back four we have & they should get used to each other. Connoly looked as if he has never been out, White was solid apart from nearly scoring an own goal O'Dea seemed to be more composed with young Lees at the back, and Lees seems a very intelligent player who’s surprisingly good in the air. People keep saying about Snod not being in form & I agree, we have seen him much better but he still has 4 assists this season! As for Lonners, well impressed with the lad
Morning mate Me too...i think that we underestimate our own players strengths a lot...and concerntrate too much on the weaknesses...which i suppose is part & parcel of following Leeds & the expectations of the fans...we only want real quality for the prices we pay & sometimes it doesnt seem like thats what we have or strive to have!!! Kanu is a right handful...even at 107 years old...when he came on at half time in the Centre of Midfield...he chilled them right out & changed their game!! Wedefended well & should take alot from the win!
Bucks... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15113912.stm you have seen this about big Titus havent you???
Sorry to get of topic but... Dogs > Fiction... Very impressed at weekend, Snoddy looked very sharp, and the whole team seemed to be playing with little fear. Long may it continue!
Snoddy looked sharp going forward but also defending, he is deffo more confident with Connolly behind him. Connolly doesnt look match fit but give him a run and it will benefit snoddy Elland its Lonergan!!!!!!!!! lol Jud Lees had Benjani in his pocket all the first half and we where composed on the ball. Credit to Cotteril who spotted what was wrong changed it to 4-4-2 with Kanu coming on and they where a threat and passed the ball. Kanu even at 107 years old does hold the ball up brilliantly and brings their midfielders into the game, they had enough chances to equalize, their best chance came from what initially looked like bad defending but actually it the guy was left unmarked because he was their right back playing Centre Forward lol
