Agreed. The issue isn't pace or number of quality players (maybe a little bit) but the lack of a leader. That's why I think Fabinho will play back there, he's more of a leader than any of the other defenders.
We all know what will happen without VvD. We don’t have to go back too far to remember this. I will defiantly be backing ‘both teams to score’ and ‘over 4.5 goals per game‘
Even with Fabinho, l don't see him marshalling the back line. My issue is that we're expecting two injury prone CB's to last the season and play every game during a season which is crammed. They could just about manage to stay fit if they played once a week, let alone the current schedule.
they have to last until January when we can sign someone else. I fully expect one or more of them to be injured before then tbh....we all saw the impact on City when they lost such an influential figure at the back....
Williams looked good at CB. I know was only LC games but even v arsenal he was solid. Who knows he might get some more game time and might find a little gem of a player in there. Klopps always said he won’t buy players to cover injuries, whether that changes in Jan given we’re already a little short in that area but remember we’re not flush with cash after needing to spread the transfer fees out over number of years to get those in that we wanted. Might not necessarily be able to just go out and spend 50m on a new CB.
Alisson Becker is back in training - and could make a return to action before the end of the month. Alisson has already started work on individual sessions at Melwood involving diving and falling which have been progressing well. #awlfc [liverpool echo]
If he's holding up imaginery yellow cards trying to get other players booked then it must be James #topdraw
