Great comeback from Southampton on the weekend against a team who’s spent 250 mill in the transfer window this summer
I always remembered from my football knowledge of Spurs doing the English League and FA cup double, sometime during the 60's. Eventually followed up by Arsenal in the early 70's. Prior to that it was PNE and Aston Villa (had to look this last bit up, because could no longer remember). I actually went to White Hart Lane for a private function when Terry Venables was their manager. My first time of seeing Venables was when he was in charge at Crystal Palace, for what was my first all ticket game. Watched my team get hammered at White Hart Lane in the FA Cup 5-0 (I think it was). I've also visited the home of Barcelona, where Gary Lineker made his move from to Spurs and of course the Venables link again. Last but not least the Ossie Ardiles show when he and another Argentinian who's name slips my mind, played for and managed Tottenham. I've got quite a few fond memories of the club. Some I've probably forgotten, but none of them negative, well apart from losing 5-0 to them, but I didn't really expect much else. Trophies are not everything.
