Interesting debate on Twitter asking which of a few previous managers would get the best out of the current squad, though I thought I'd open it up a bit sooo which Mike Ashley manager would get the best out of the current squad? Rafa and his back 5? Keegan and his score more than you philosophy? Could Pardew take us back to Europe? You get two picks out of the 10!
I went for Benitez and Hughton. I do love Keegan's passion and he has a a great connection with the Toon fans, but his team sheet and tactics would read like Garth Crooks' 'team of the week's. 4 strikers, 3 attacking midfielders, 3 defenders all renowned for scoring and a 'rush goalie'.
Yeah I was kind of between Hughton and Keegan, maybe Keegan would get us going with Wilson, Max, Fraser and Almiron
Allardyce, Shearer, Kinnear, Carver and McClaren were utter disasters, let's not even consider them. Pardew had one good season then a whole load of dross, and has been dogshit since. Bruce is....well, ****e as we can see right now. Leaving it to the 3 who were actually decent, Keegan, Hughton and Rafa. Keegan has had his day, and as we saw before couldn't work with Ashley, so I can't say him. Hughton and Rafa but got us promoted and got the best out of the squad, Rafa with far more backing than Hughton. So I'm gonna say Hughton.
A response with some intelligence Rafa would ****in stick ASM in the reserves, or CB. He's got far too much personality for that boring ****.
Not with this squad I doubt and he'd drop Jonjo plus I think he'd put almiron ahead of Fraser and rightly so... Frasers crap imo
You doubt? Smacks of a man who only ever watched him manage us and made up the rest. He has never, ever been good with attacking players. Bought and got rid of them like used dildos at Liverpool, played five at the back at Chelse, Napoli, was hated at Real Madrid by their players, chairman and fans. The question is: who would get the best out of the squad. Not who will sit us in 14th playing akin to Allardyce
All these ****s will be dead soon anyway. **** this thread , close it. Theres a thread about future managers up right now. Sick of discussing times gone by Sack Bruce, hire Barton. Thank you G4rd.
He wouldbt play 5 at the back with this squad though. He'd be defensive, but we'd be organised and effective on the counter.. I'd rather that than some old British turd making a, bloody mess of everything and having no clear style of play..
He ain't as bad as Di Canio, that's good enough for me. He's an aggressive personality but also understands and is constantly popular in the dressing room. Its a match made in heaven for a Premier League manager. Our ****ers are LAZY.
I don't think they're are, but shelvey legs went 5 years ago and he's useless anyway then you've got captain Fistbumps... These two players in my opinion are the biggest issue at the club... Both cost us goal after goal after goal and for some reason they're the 2st two players on Bruce's team sheet.. I'd we got rid of them and got a proper player or even a half decent replacement we'd improve instantly
And for that you need a manager whos ****ing tough. Ala JOEY ****IN BARTON please log in to view this image
Hmm its a pretty ****ty question. Pardew has the best record under Ashley and played the best football. However I'd question whether that was Pardew from then or now? He seems to have a regressive career. For whatever reason he upped his game at us. Keegan seemed to have a knack but he's a bit of a dinosaur. I'd probably still risk it. As much as his teams are terrible to watch, I think Rafa would be the safe choice. It wouldn't be entertaining, but I think he could get us up to about 10th-11th. He'd be effective. An owner would probably go Rafa. When we say get the best out of them, what does that mean though? Highest league position? Probably a few would get similar results, just in different ways. Personally I think I'd go Pardew and Keegan as they'd play the best football on all known evidence. I hate the thought of any of them being in charge of us though I have to say. Its a ****ty list of out of touch managers, many of whoms teams are **** to watch.
