Quality statement from a quality newspaper. I asked the question a couple of weeks ago had the power shifted in north London from Arsenal too Tottenham and now it seems the Daily Mail has answered, its a yes and long may this dominance continue.

As for Wenger and his fans you guys need to show some sportsmanship if it is not Wenger moaning or offering Clive Allen out for a fight its demented fans making chants at Adebayor regards the killing of his International African teammates, real sick guys.

Lets hope the Spurs take over of north London progresses smoothly, and know spitting of the dummy from a certain Arsenal operative.

Demented fans, of course Spurs' fans are white than white! They are just as demented and sick, with their chants about Wenger. I don't condone either set of fans with their chanting yesterday, it's about time some one took a stand against this, wether it be the clubs or the premier league.

  4. For this year and the foreseeable future, unless we improve, Spurs are ahead of us in the game. Unpalatable but not far from the truth either.

I agree with EmirateRedandWhite, the chanting was deplorable and the sooner someone calls a halt to it, the better.

In what way are Spurs better than us though? Granted they may have a better squad/ team than us but until that "superiority" transforms itself into something concrete they are still, forever in our shadow. Come back when you've won 13.

I totally agree that Wengers lack of sportsmanship is draining on even the most ardent of Arsenal fans, but please spare the patronising comments re Adebeyor.
Of course everything sung at him from the Arsenal fans was sick, but no sicker than what Tottenham fans sung at him a few years ago, so remove the blinkers please then start a genuine debate...

Because one or two of your fans come on our board and were so gracious in defeat I will try and be gracious in victory. I think we just edged the game, but only just. Parker and Adebayor had a couple of chances that they perhaps should have put away, and towards the end we could have had a few more chances if Bale and Modric etc. had squared the ball through the box rather than having a go themselves. Gervinho should really have scored for you.

By the letter of the law Van der Vaart should have been sent off - although that law in particular is bullshit imho - but these things happen in football, everyone has the odd one go for and against them and in that respect we got the rub of the green on the day. The handball was very close, it looked like a shoulder to me but I guess you guys will think differently on that. The chanting was done by both sides, lets not pretend any different, but thats what happens in a derby and thats the nature of the beast in games such as those.

Does this signal a "power shift" in North London? It's still to early to tell, and even if we finish above you this season that will also be too early to tell. That was the first North London Derby for a long time that we have been favorites to win, and until that is a regular state of affairs the "power shift" will not be complete. Ignore the DM's sensationalism, we had enough of dealing with that particular beast over the summer.

I won't wish you best of luck for the rest of the season but I do expect you to recover and end up in a reasonable position. All local rivalries aside you have some good players in your team and should pick up results eventually.

Good post. I believe at this particular juncture Spurs are the better side however they have some way to go if they want to be considered as great as Arsenal. I fully expect Arsene to strengthen our squad in January and hopefully we will be able to improve on this abysmal start and still be in touch with the Cl places come January. Spurs and the DM need to realise though, that consistency is necessary in order to say that a power shift has fuly occured in North London. You must remember, until just recently, Spurs had failed to win a league game against us in 11 years. Just saying <ok>

    the whole notion is hilarious.

I guess then that when the come to emirates and we win , according to the daily mail logic.

We will be restored to the supreme power in N London.

Apparaently consistency of success is irrelevant , all that matters is the last 90 minute meeting .
