Looks like the Brazilian grand prix will never take place at Sau Paulo again. Very sad if true. One of my favourite tracks. Looks like FOM wants to go to Rio

I do like the Sau Paulo track, it has great elevation changes, some unique corners and a great atmosphere, problem is security. It's only a matter of time before someone is killed in a robbery and Liberty might be liable!!
Not sure how much better Rio is though, plus they are suggesting circuit will have to cut down thousands of trees to be built! Are they suggesting that it can be built ready for next year???? Also as Bernie owned the Sau Paulo track he gave himself a zero hosting fee :) So you can understand Liberty wanting a hosting fee to travel that far south.

Seems like it will be new as they are saying thousands of trees will be cut down. Personally I think it's to get away from Bernie as he either owns the sau paulo track or he has some other big connection to it!

Not sure the push is from /brazilian gov but Liberty getting away from Bernie. To be fair UK and most other European nations have historically cut down most of their forests in the name of development. I am taking decades and centuries ago but our Gov didn't bat an eyelid then o why should Brazilian gov care if they develop as a country? I realise climate change wasn't really known about back then but I find it a bit rich when developed countries try and dictate to those who need to develop their own countries. We all need to tackle climate change together and that involves the developed world helping out the less developed world not to destroy forests etc...

I've decided to do what young, optimistic people do. I've started an online petition to Liberty, Chase, Ross & others...

Obviously the Brazilian GPs at Interlagos have proven to be a bit too entertaining.

Please don't get me started on Global warming. Is it the end of the world? no, is it a mass extinction event? yes, will many humans die? yes. Are our priorities wrong? yes.

    Mazapin > Haas
    Hulk > Red Bull
    Albon > alpha Tauri
    Gasly > Alpine
    Pèrez > Williams
    Russell > Out...

These are all very real strong rumours

That's a bit of a shake up. I did read earlier that Russell's seat wasn't very secure and that they were almost suggesting that a year without a seat learning Mercs simulator and working practice would be good! Much as I quite like Russel it will be good to keep Perez and get Hulk a seat.
Oh that means occon is without a drive - he was a Merc driver as well!!!
Wonder who else will be at Haas.
Hulk at red Bull will be interesting.

Isn't Oncon already signed for Alpine next season?

And lastly, we keep hearing excuses about Lewis's contract, the current one is that they are too busy. Honestly I find this really weird, I would have expected them to resign by now. I am 99% sure that he'll be there next season, but some part of me want him to go now. He'll leave at the very top, he'll be remembered as one of the best ever, and we would get some fresh blood in Mercedes....... but we all know it won't happen.

To me both Toto and Lewis will be at Merc next year. With such little change next year they have a very good chance of 8 drivers championships for Lewis and 7 constructors championships which would be some records. It would leave Merc in the record books for quite some time IF merc were to just become PU suppliers in future! So to me Merc will pull out as constructor in 2022 and Lewis might retire as well.

I can't believe Russell will be out.

Maybe (unlikely) Lewis out, Russell in.
Or, (more likely) Russell Merc test drive, seat for 2022.

Otherwise it makes no sense. Why would Williams let him go?

ocon is only on loan so can be terminated. Im not a fan of his anyway. Alpine might want another French driver they can mould as there own.

And a lot of development experience. Think about how much dev experience Perez has! Not only Force India's way of historically spending wisely but the recent Merc clone experience. He might be just what Williams need to push them forward.
