Now it is clearly apparent that a lot of the fans myself included, see a rather negative outlook for SAFC with Bruce in charge.

If you can think of anything that is positive please post something here in order to balance the negativity.

I would like to start by mentioning our 3-0 win over Chelsea, although it was somewhat tarnished by Bruces decision to drop Gyan in favour of Bent in the very next game, but atleast its a start.

Anything else to be positive about?

Yes very true Bruce 'guided' us to our 3rd best position in many a year. Its important that we don't focus on the fact that our finish last season was due to an excellent start and that the end of season flirt with relegation was only short lived. Its also vitally important not to focus on the fact that 7 games into this season we have started in the same vein that we finished last season because we should only judge Bruce after the season is complete.

He has made steady progress each year he has been here (league position wise), and has more than balanced the books with his transfer dealings while dealing with all the dead wood left by Keane.

One big positive for Bruce if he keeps his job past January then we will be doing well won't we?

I could counter that with: If the same manager took us near the top, the same manager had us flirt with relegation - then what changed if the manager didn't? Injuries, Bent leaving, then 11 new signings, Gyan doing one on us, Bramble being a twat.....

The thing that has done the most damage to Bruce's plan to this season was Gyan leaving. I reckon Gyan and Bendtner would have been a damn good partnership but now we will never know...

I love Steve because the whole world is out of step with him - those 6 billion tossers just can't get it right. <laugh>

Seriously though, to sell Henderson for £16m, and sign a much more attack-minded and accurate Larsson on a free was excellent by anyone's standards. Everyone knows my position on Bruce, but the man does have his good points.

nothing positive from me i'm afraid, he has had more money to spend than any SAFC manager before him. He has world class facilities and todate he has failed to bring us on at the rate I had hoped for. Now....we are going backwards.
    Time to leave Steve.....

If we manage to be hovering around 11th/12th position by january without really "gelling" I can see Bruce adding a player or 2 to push on and have a good second half of the season.

does anyone else think that Bruce is trying too hard to get us to play pretty possession football?

Dont get me wrong, if the players do gel and we end up playing that brand of footie I will be loving it, but do you think it could be costing us at the moment as we transition to the pretty stuff?

Yes there are good thing about SB, by and large he has signed some good players and we have had some good runs in the league.
However the negative are that he cannot motivate a team has no plan B, plays too many players in their 'wrong' position and wonders why we are disjointed on the pitch, dithers when he needs to change players when we are in a hole. In other words he is only in part a good manager and lacks other important attributes.

Of course I could change my view if we went on a 10 match winning run..Although overall if he had any guts he would resign!

I'm absolutely positive he isn't the man for the job at SAFC.

That would be the first good second half of the season he has had. But we can dream.
