Kenny will try, like others. But also like others, he will fail. Fergies untouchable <ok>

Also, it's Fergies word against Kennys isn't it? Unless you've got the stats to prove it.... Which i'm sure you haven't.

Kenny not only has tried, he's also succeeded. Unless you are a typical Man United fan that thinks football began in 1992, there is more than just 1995, there is 1988, when Kenny Dalglishs Liverpool finished 9 points clear of Alex Fergusons Manchester United. Then there is 1990, When Kenny Dalglishs Liverpool finished 25 points and 10 places higher than Alex Fergusons Manchester United.

Ferguson has matured as a manager since then. That'll never happen in todays game, mark my words.

Plus, Kenny had a dominant L'pool team on his hands. Fergie was still building his team towards dominance. Looks like the roles have reversed, only I don't see Kenny managing to do what Sir Alex has done. Not by a long shot <ok>

Why don't you? Nobody would have seen Fergie doing it in the first place, but he has done it.

I think he was referring solely to Paisley. When you consider what Shankly left Paisley and what Atkinson left Ferguson, is it any wonder Paisley's first nine seasons were so much better than SAF's?

Doesn't have the persistence to build and rebuild imo. He's never spent more than a few seasons at any one club, nor shown much inclination to. Leaving Liverpool was fair enough after Hillsborough, but he walked away from Blackburn after one successful season, when he was at a club with the funds to compete with anyone else at the time. I think he'll stick at Liverpool until he thinks he's taken them as far as he can, probably into a title challenge, but then won't be willing to put the effort and struggle in to taking them even further.

Because the whole game has changed since then. Say Liverpool overtook United, then they would have to compete with Chelsea and City and so I think it's fair to say they will never dominate like they did in the 80s again.

He left Blackburn because he hoped he would get the Liverpool job.

Oh and the reason your managers have great percentage and "won it in his first season" records is because they all inherited great sides from their predecessor. Whoever replaces ferge will have a title winning team first time out.

THE "S" AT THE END OF MANAGER AND THE WORDS "THEY ALL" SORT OF IMPLIES HE IS REFERRING TO MORE THAN JUST PAISLEY

Why'd he become DoF at Blackburn then? Surely that's just shooting yourself in the foot - leaving a managerial role for a directorship in the hope of managing another club?

He was probably referring to ***an and Dalglish as well. After all, they effectively inherited Paisley's side, which is as good as inheriting Shankly's. And still infinitely better than inheriting Atkinson's <ok>

Because I think he felt a sense of loyalty to Jack Walker, and didn't want to leave him without a manager mid-season, and it would've been easier for JW to lose him as a DoF rather than a manager mid-season or whenever LFC came calling. Just my take on it anyway!

Dalglish is without doubt a man who wants to win. The difference between Ken and Alex is simple, Fergie doesnt want to win, he makes sure he wins. It might take him a few goes but he always gets what he wants. He wanted the champions league and what happened? He got it. He wanted to over take Liverpools domestic record. What happened? He did it. He wants another champions league, what do you think will happen? He will get it. Lets be honest here, Fergie is in a different league to dalglish. He is one of the alltime greats. A legend of the game in terms of management. It would be fair to call him the best ever, many would agree while others may not but the fact is Fergie is a god of the football world and dalglish has a long way to go to even come close.

Nobody has ever got one over fergie and survived to tell the tale. Every manager who has led a team to success over United has gone on to worse things. Blackburn, Liverpool, Chelsea, Leeds, Arsenal. None of them maintained a challenge and Fergie regained or in Liverpool and Leeds case grasped his league title from the hands of others time after time.

Alan says Fergies record of 12 in 25 doesnt compare with paisleys but fergie has been around almost 3 times longer and managed through 4 different decades of football at the same club. Of course hes going to face different challenges over these years and hes going to have to adapt. Something he has done, something he has done better than anyone. You can talk about paisleys record but how would he do over 25 years? You dont know however we do how fergie has done and if anyone says its anything but brilliant then I am afraid you need medical help, you're i'll alan, lie down and take a deep breath....

anyway, the point is fergie is a footballing god, a man who gets respect from every person in the football world and a man who should never ever be written off. Its a mugs game if you do.
