First time I motorbiked in Scotland a pal told me going through Glencoe was a brilliant experience. I asked him, 'how will I know when I'm there?', he said, 'Oh, you'll know!'. And he was right.

There are two roads every biker should ride, or attempt to, once in their lives - the Glencoe Road is one, the B500 in Germany up to the Swiss border is the other. Totally different but both mind blowing rides.

Did it last year - I'd like to do it again but I'd want to do it really early in the morning, by the time we got there it was like Clive Sully in the rush hour, campervans, motorbikes, cars and worst of all, hundreds of push bikes. I was glad to get to the top in one piece with my clutch still intact! If you're in that area again you should pop over the border into Austria and try the Silvretta Pass - not so extreme as the Stelvio but a brilliant ride/drive on a much quieter road.

We drove through Glencoe in my wife's Peugeot 108 and a Golden Eagle flew directly over the top of us at about 10 ft....****er was bigger than the car:emoticon-0102-bigsm

We were on our way to Skye(Orbost,Loch Bracadale) to a future forest project called 'rebel wood',dedicated to the memory of the late Joe Strummer. We bought a couple of trees up there when it was set up.I took up a Yamaha APX electro acoustic and played 'London Calling' in memory of the great man.....The scenery was absolutely breath-taking!!!!

We ski every year pre Covid in Livigno/Bormio which is very close to Stelvio. Some nice hairpins - I’d like to do that section on my road bike one day.

I was at Bootham Crescent for the away game. Football Special. Was it a record crowd for York at the time, beating the previous one which was also set when they played at home to City ?
Impressed you can recall the home defeat, 55 years ago, was the 7th game in without looking it up.

Nice ground at Rochdale. I've been a few times.

I was there when there was the pitch invasion and when we had a penalty shoot out. Adam Bolder played and scored in the shoot out. His mother sat a few seats to our right and was very pleased.

I went with my daughter round about 2000. A blob on the row in front of us got thrown out for shouting Sheep Shagger at their mascot which was a dragon, called Dale. He even got his very young son to shout it. He got away with it at first and was warned. He apologised and promised it would not be repeated. Then he got his son to shout it, knowing he wouldn't be ejected. Then he started again. About six stewards appeared. His mate said that he thought he'd be going that time. He was but he left his son behind. According to them, all stewards are nonces because that's why they do the job. Nonces nowadays means gay here.

Apparently his reasoning was that dragons come from Wales and are Welsh. Everybody from Wales is a sheepshagger, ergo, the dragon must be one.

I think it would have been more reasonable to link it to the name Dale.

    Sorry all you Dales.

I did an Army Cross Country Skiing course in Glencoe. I ****ing hate the place!
We stayed at Braemar, Ballater and it was a ****hole.
Up at 5:30am and we got back around 8 every night. Before we had our dinner, we had to melt the wax off the ski's and rub fresh on them. We had to wear White Artic gear and carry a rucksack with a change of clothing, some grub and a sleeping bag. To pass the course we had to ski 10miles, up and down hill, We had lunch one day at the top of some big hill and we all got a bollocking for pissing in the snow! There was nothing but snow to piss on! All of these clever ****ers were on the drag lifts but we had to herringbone up the bastarding slope.
I was based in Southampton and there were only two of us sent on the course from my unit. It took us 16 hours to get there and nearly 20 to get back. As I reported back at the gatehouse, I was told I was to report to Rosyth within 48hrs to join RFA Sir Tristram for 2 months in the Artic Circle.
I hate ****ing Scotland and you can shove Glencoe right up your arse.
