It's been injuries that have curtailed his playing career. He is just the player England need in midfield, but he just can't stay fit to get a run in a side.
Agreed, a wasted career through injuries. You do wonder how many of those injuries are psychological? He did at least secure the nickname ’Jack Wheelchair’.
It does make you wonder whether he is one that is a bit fragile mentally, and easily gives in to slight injuries.
There are reasons those "names" are without a club... 1.Current financial climate 2.Value players rate themselves being at odds with climate 3.Players shown little motivation at their last clubs, so released Barmby aside, which "name" did we bring in that fully paid off...?
Wouldn't have time to list them all, so you are saying the only signing we even made was Barmby, that in your opinion fully paid off?
JJ was injured for most of his time.... Although he did confirm that God is a Hull City supporter....
You must have very high expectations then, as I can think of many players that IMO reached and surpassed my expectations. Ian Ashby springs to mind as just one.
I'm talking about "names".... The point was about the list of available players.... Not every player (shakes head slowly, wondering why I bother)....
Yes, remember it well. We beat them with a Bremner free-kick. I thought we were on the verge of a good season. We ended up 14th, Forest got promoted on goal difference with the 5th lowest points total ever for a promoted club, 52. Three seasons later Forest had won the First Division, the European Cup twice and the League Cup twice. We got relegated to Division Three. So much for my thoughts on good things on the way.
Out of that list I’d take Niasse, although even if he was the same as when he was on loan, if he still has the pace, not sure if our system would be good for him. I read the other day Welbeck was released by Watford as well, snapped up by Brighton. Mendez Liang seems to ring a bell too about him being a decent player.
