Wouldn’t be surprised if Klopp decides to revert to the 17/18 style where we look to score 4-5 every game to compensate for the loss of VVD. Our defence is going to struggle so may just need to go all out
People can do what they like mate, I’ve no issue with anyone following whoever they choose. I take exception to those who make stupid comments like you have here, as they don’t truly get it though, if pointing that offends you - tough ****. So chalk that up as another failed attempt to take the moral high ground.
Tobes has a point. I am a "local", born in Toxteth but left Liverpool when I was 33, and have a lot of EFC mates/relatives. Although there is a lot of banter it is never "our club is bigger than your club" stuff, it tends to be lively discussions/sarky comments between us. I can only ever remember one incident which resorted to blows between two of my mates, and that was because one of them brought religion into the situation.
Please calm down. Just admit that your team resorted to outdated tactics, and deliberately set out to injure our players. Then we can all move on. You should be upset. I had high hopes for you lot but yesterday proved that you will always have the small time mentality as it deep rooted in your DNA
the answer i have is this On Pickford the Ref never even considered the sending off as he was only interested in if it was a pen and that would be determined by a VAR offside decision . The statement from PGMOL during the game was that VAR ref had only looked into the offside decision and not the severity of the Pickford challenge so no action was taken . On Richarlison the ref saw it and immediately pulled out the red for serious foul play .
That's what I was on about in my post earlier. Now I'm pretty ****ing far from local but my footballing life started in the 80's and of course some of my best memories are the cup finals but not just because we won. As a kid I marveled at the two groups of fans all mingled in together, family some red some blue. And then of course Hillsborough and how they stood with us from the start, the only club to do so. Yes I'm annoyed with yesterday but I won't let it affect my thoughts on Everton FC and if they ever (lol) get to the point of winning a trophy again and we're not involved I'll be cheering on the blueshite.
The only one beeling here is you mate. You’ve been crying your eyes out for nearly 24hrs. Ancelotti the new Pulis in the land of the deluded Kopite is he? Loving it
No mate, you’re confusing biting with calling out your abject nonsense again and I wasn’t calling out non local fans either, as plenty of Kopite match goers whether occasional or pass holders aren’t scousers. What I was doing, was calling out a certain type of plastic, who make it obvious from their comments that they don’t truly get the rivalry. For the avoidance of any doubt, I specifically meant YOU.
If people want to be all heated up be heated up about the VAR official. It was a derby, pickford has dived in quite a few times in the past and has been caught out by it so he's not exactly done anything he's not done before. He's just got lucky that all. Richarilson is a spicy sort of player and i've said in the past its a positive. He's got it wrong and apologised for it. It is in the end a contact sport and a derby so refs let a lot of stuff go. We have seen many incidents over the years going right back and seen many a player sent to the stands. The issue is its 70% everton players and we've seen things like mori breaking ankle etc etc. Ref's ref it this way and both sides ramp up the stakes. Robertson might have been done in any other game but got away with it. Allan was let away with quite a few before he took out henderson while james was rolling about faking injury. It is what it is. The issue for me is LFC dominated the ball a bit more than everton would really have wanted imo. After that LFc were proven weak in the air off set piece and off crosses. Gomez was done twice by lewin getting up and he was felt on his heels. Robertson allowed himself the be moved aside for the second goal etc. It could have been 2 or 3 before everton get into it. they then actually missed really good chances, the second half was very flat and our second goal was a slice of luck so we can talk performance all we want, it had a bit of fight, it was better than everton were able to put up but it was a long way short of what is needed. 2-2 was fair enough on balance, the red card denied everton any chance of ending the game stronger and winning. As I've said before many times, the red mist descends and we don't get a game we get a fight. It was hilarious seeing thiago given the motm having watched him struggle with the pace of game most of the time.
I grew up by Goodison in a family of Blues and to me it's always been a friendly rivalry. Sad to say that during my lifetime a lot of bitterness and animosity has grown up between the two sides and it's not the same any more.
Disagree with the last paragraph. Thiago consistently showed subtle but distinct signs of real quality.
yes, that's fine but he still had to struggle to get to the pace of it to really be able to influence. His determination to do so is not in question, he stayed on when we could have swapped subs there to influence the game so his quality is not in question.
Thiago preferred Liverpool to other clubs in the premiership based on the recommendations of former Liverpool players, including Xabi Alonso, Luis Suarez and others. So, there would never be questions about his commitment.
No idea what you’re on about here sorry. Guy won the ball back more than anyone else, played more forward passes between the lines and was always available to take the ball in tight situations. He was a class above everyone else all game.
This is true and very sad, I suppose we should do what we can to remind fans that this has been a friendly ISH rivalry and we should strive to get that back. While giving them a drubbing as often as possible.
