VAR has cost Liverpool again, it did it many times last season.

Everton’s small club tactics aside, we played some really good football and I thought our midfield was brilliant.

I hope Thiago isn’t out for long because you can see what he brings to the team. Such a classy player. Hard to see Gini or anyone else getting into it any time soon (apart from rotation)

Ah ok. I don’t think anything has been officially announced yet so I’m still hopeful.

Good performance after the debacle of the Villa game. Deserved a convincing 3 points.

How did Pickford not get sent off for this assault on VVD? As clear as a red you could imagine.

Even looking at the slow mo several times with all sorts of measurements I still cannot work out how Mané was offside. Whatever happened to giving the attacker the benefit .
Really good debut for Thiago who marshalled and created a lot in midfield.

Adrian not at fault for any of the goals but you sensed the nervousness whenever the ball came into our penalty area. Without VVD he’ll be more of a liability.

The only consolation is that none of our rivals have started well. Watch out for Everton. With Ancelotti and his experience, they will win more matches than lose and I won’t be surprised if they win it this season.

I don’t like all these rumours about VVD and an ACL injury. I am hoping it is not. To see him and Thiago brutalised by completely reckless tackles really does not show the Premier League up well. Players need protection from this

Problem is, it doesn't matter what body parts are used, there will ultimately be a line somewhere that see these minute, time consuming and often incorrect decisions made.

I still don't see why it can't be based on feet position; players can have chips in their boots and removing human input. Just got to figure out how to take human error out of figuring out ther moment the ball was kicked then.

Read this a few times from various places now...

David Coote was so distracted by trying to work out if van Dijk was onside or not that he didn't even bother to review the 'tackle' from Pickford afterwards.

... if true, he needs to face the consequences of his inadequacies!

Liverpool were left deeply unimpressed by this report from beIN Sports, making their feelings known to the Qatar-based broadcaster. Club sources insist there have been no scan results at this stage. #awlfc [@neiljonesgoal]

Sadly, it’s lost amongst all the drama but Salah has now scored 100 goals for Liverpool (in around 150 matches).

what a signing and he is one of the worlds best

Lets be honest about it. If VVD has a lengthy lay off we’ve got a mountain to climb to retain the title. Our defenders are all young and even though Robertson and Trent AA are excellent they still have not the commanding and organising skills of VVD.

Mane showed he is irreplaceable. The team is just not the same without him.

Liverpool, robbed of 3pts and possibly the worlds best defender for the season. = fuming

Everton just won thier Cup final, robbed a point of us and just took out the most important part of our defence for the season = fukin chuffed. (and that goes for everyone)

    Not happy

What else do you expect from a ****ty small time club? They finally have a good squad and are in good form but their best bet was to injure our players.
