I know this is very early as the game is two weeks away, but I have had a thought. For anyone that watched Tottenham today they would have noticed that Bale is on top form. And as anyone can see Simpson's one-on-one defending this season has been poor. So who thinks we should play Santon right back? When he was up against Ronaldo, he apparently played a blinder. He is a good defender and has plenty of pace to keep up with Bale. So, providing we have no injuries i'd play...

    Krul
    Santon Saylor Collocini Raylor
    Marveaux Tiote Cabaye Jonas
    HBA
    Ba

    Anyone agree?

I wouldnt. Continuity is the key to getting the best out of Santon, he was ****e under Benitez when they chopped and changed his position all the time.

First to admit Bale v Simpson terrifies me though.

Wasn't Santon facing Bale when he scored that hat trick in Champions League?

Fair enough Smudger. Would you agree with Marveaux and HBA starting? I think we need pace on the break and to have five in midfield to try and match Tottenham's admittedly impressive midfield!

The only other worry then is that if he's fit, we'll have Lennon vs Raylor. Mmmmm...

Well if Bale can do that to Maicon then it shows on his day that he can do it do the best of the best!

Mark him tightly like Phil Neville did for Everton once. Never got a touch that game

Depends on Ba's possible injury (a thread somewhere about it). I wouldnt mind Marveaux for Obertan but I wouldnt be able to drop Ba or Best on current form.

Also, as CSHT has pointed out, that would still leave Lennon/VDV against Raylor.

Anyway, we are the home side. Let them worry about what we have. We are unbeaten. Bet Walker - Assou-Ekotto won't be looking forward to facing our pace on the wings!

Two weeks for Ba to get over his injury should just about be enough.

Should be. Even if he is fit I think we should start Hatem - probably over Obertan

Agree here. BAE is a weak link for them, i'd love to see Marv start to test him. Obertan may trouble him with his pace, but again it worries me that in Ober and Jonas we have two wingers who can't cross.

BAE has improved a lot over the last season - good left back now! Yeah maybe Marveaux, but I would just stick Hatem on the right and let him do his stuff

Not sure who would drop out for Lennon to play lol

Van Der Vaart - Parker - Modric - Bale was their midfield today

    Pure class

I would not mind that tbh. Defoe is a cracking striker and wouldn't mind if he didn't play
