The VAR did review Jordan Pickford's tackle on Virgil Van Dijk but decided it was not a red card, The Athletic has been told. The people running VAR need to be sacked. Either use the technology correctly or don’t use it at all.
If anyone wants to see the actual context of that first quote of yours they only need to click on the arrow. Makes interesting reading mate
The offside meant the game wasn’t live when that happened though. He could have only been sent off in that context for violent conduct. Saved by an armpit
Offside is irrelevant. It was a clear and utter reckless challenge. It’s a potential career ender. and it was reviewed anyway by VAR so there it could have been dealt with at the time. They simply Didn’t think it was a foul and that’s criminal
It is relevant though, as the ball was effectively dead. It wasn’t violent conduct just a ****e piece of goalkeeping. Career ending is a tad hyperbolic like
Tobes, you’re really showing your bias now. It was a shocking challenge, you cannot argue this. Just because VVD didn’t roll around 50 times doesn’t mean that it’s not a bad challenge. By your logic, players can go around two footing anyone they want after the whistle is blown without any fear of being carded?
you think the challenge on VVD is just ‘a **** piece of goalkeeping’? Tobes, enjoy the night and the point mate.
Only I didn’t say it wasn’t a bad challenge though, you should really read what I actually post mate. He got lucky, as VVD was an inch offside, otherwise it’s a penalty and a red card. What it wasn’t, was violent conduct. You’re welcome.
Even without Alisson and VvD we were clearly a much much better team than Everton. They still have a long way to go.
the offside was given after the tackle and the ball had gone out of play so actually makes no difference.
The problem is that we’re in a position where we rely on our attack to score 3-4 goals just to win the game.
Don’t care how you wanna dress it up. It’s violent conduct and the little cretin should have been sent off. Simple as
Of course it does, as if there’s a foul in the box and the ref gives a penalty but then VAR gives an offside, then the penalty isn’t given as the offside came first. This really isn’t complicated.
LFC request a review into the application of VAR during the Merseyside derby from the Premier League over the failure to scrutinise Jordan Pickford’s challenge on Virgil van Dijk + clarity over aspects of the Sadio Mane offside call
Doesn't matter what type of conduct it was, you can get sent off when off the pitch, at HT, after FT and even management can get sent off. Regardless of what type of conduct it was, if Kopp did what Pickford did to someone on the Everton bench warming up im pretty sure we wouldn't be discussing the circumstance of when it occurred
