    <ok>

    I've had a load of forums link to my videos mate, so if any of them give me credit for it, are you sure you don't want me to message them and tell them you made the discovery?

    Just asking mate, don't want to take credit for your work.

    It's fine.

    I might give it another go later when I'm not half asleep and see if I can properly put it to bed.

    Usually on MOTD when there is a close line decision they do that hawkeye-esk thing, the fact that they did not do it for that (or did not show it) suggests that it was out because otherwise I can't see how they would pass up such an opportunity to prove we where lucky and did not deserve to win. Bastards.

    If anyone tried hard enough they'd be able to work it out using pitch measurements and all that jazz.

    Of course, they probably would if it was a top four game...

    BBC never do that, they show an inconclusive angle and make a poor judgement call. See VdV's goal today which from two **** angles that showed nothing was definite handball from Dixon and Dublin. Idiots.

    Without being funny, this is pure bollocks. Fair attempt, but without complex geometry and a way to compare the two images properly this method just doesn't work.

    Put simply, in the second picture draw a line on the left hand side of the ball running to the goal line. Presto! Its in.

    Sorry folks, back to guessing!

    I'm rubbish at uploading images. Take your original for the second image, draw the line parallel with the crossbar again, then draw the vertical line left of the ball rather than right, and it shows completely the opposite and the goal stands.

    3D space is a bastard.

    I was using Raylors hand a reference point originally though.

    I also tried what you said and it stays behind the line. It's admittedly confusing though.

    Can you post or PM me the original without the lines and I'll demonstrate... Hopefully.

    Goal now stands because the ball stayed in. Neither this nor yours is correct as without a proper reference (Ryan Taylors arm isn't one) in three dimensions this technique doesn't work.

    He's jumping, so theres no way to judge his position on the axis of that goal line. Trust me, it doesn't work without a static reference!
