At least we proved the 7-2 was a blip. We were far far better today without 2 of our best players. Hopefully vvd isn’t out for long as we look vulnerable at the back without him.

That midfield looked very good today though. Thiago again superb. Not just his forward passing but his tackling was brilliant. Wouldnt surprise me to see his tackles up there with highest in the game today

First game I've watched with him in the side. Very impressed. Always a option, rarely gives the ball away and is very good defensively too. Quality player.

 

Very impressed with Thiago in particular the number of interceptions / tackles he made as the passing was a bit of a given .

 

We were due some luck in this fixture mate, so I’m taking it.

Not blaming Adrian, he is what he is, but Alisson definitely saves their second. If VVD is on the pitch, they don't get their first either.

Don’t agree, that was a magnificent header and right in the corner, no keeper is getting that mate.

 

Thiago looks like a player who can unlock defences with one pass, just what we have been missing.

 

He was very good today, your midfield bossed most of the game tbh.

 

err rather than in the corner it was straight at Adrian but in his defence it was a bullet header .

 

Watch it again but watch Adrian. He hardly moves from his initially position. Alisson is brilliant in those position, I think he saves it.


Edit; that's not a criticism of the goal, it was a very good header. Its how good I think Alisson is and how much we miss him (and VVD)

We dominated that game. Everton were average for most of that game because we made them look that way. Pickford should have been sent off. And the tackle on Thiago was vile. Everton have been flattering to deceive based on that performance.

 

Tbh I am happy with the performance
The league is going to be much tougher
Decent enough result
Importantly we got a response from the players
Now let’s hope they have their games heads for a few in a row now

 

Few keepers would get that tbh....the problem was before the header. I actually think that Adrian had a better chance of saving the first....point blank range but could have pushed it up/away.....

 

Teams will fancy their chances if we’ve lost VvD. Klopp was suggesting the Thiago was struggling after the game too and it didn’t look good.
