I'm not sure there's any situation that would see Southgate pick Grealish. He clearly doesn't rate/like him. He's turning into another stubborn coach who won't change things when they're clearly not working. 4-3-3. Pickford Trent Coady Gomez Chilwell Phillips Henderson Grealish Rashford Kane Sterling
I agree with the "not as good as his agent thinks he is" bit. I seen some comments on social media from some of our so called fans which are way below the belt. Just because he hasn't signed a new contract, doesn't mean he doesn't want to play for the club. Him or his agent obviously think he deserves to be paid more. Pro-footballers have a short career so you can hardly blame them. He was a last minute call up to the Irish squad after something like 7 players were ruled out due to covid issues. Not playing regularly for his club means, the chances of him getting a run out for his country were quite slim. Somebody somewhere has turned his head. Not sure if it is another club or his agent. Hopefully he and the club can sort out the contract issue and he either continues with us or we sell him and make a few quid. I would hate to see a player leave who we have nurtured for 6/7 years on a free.
To be honest with you, they were extremely unlucky overall in all 3 games. The Slovakia play off game they played really well and were very unlucky to lose. They created the clear cut opportunities, had 2 cleared off the line and hit the post. The Welsh game, they could have won it although it was an even game and therefore, a draw was probably a fair result. Tonight against Finland, they were unlucky again. One simple mistake led to the goal. Definitely didn't deserve to lose. They have a rookie manager who is just starting off. I am sure/hope he will improve given some more time. They lack a top class goalscorer. The vast majority of the strongest starting 11 are P.L. players. The problem they have is a lack of depth and when they get 7 players pulling out of the squad like they had against Finland, the second string lads are mostly Championship players and not quite as good.
Had a cheeky little winning bet on this one. What made me do it was when I earlier read that their manager is under a lot of pressure i.e. from getting sacked and that WR is favourite with the bookies to thereafter get the job. Needless to say that Roonie had their only two chances in the game and put them both comfortably wide. Just saying!
Been a good game. Great finish from Salah to make it 1-2 and that man Calvert-lewin equalised with a brilliant header.
Be a good few domestic abuse incidents in the East End of Glasgow tonight, seeing as they couldn't beat each other up in the pubs! Hope the polis are ready for the trouble in Blackpool.... Rangers win 2-0 and go four clear of Celtic
Two millimetres offside. I think VAR is good, but decisions like that are a joke (very funny though )
In the Derby de la Madonina Inter 1 Milan 2 GET IN. At ****ing last Milan seem to have turned a corner, 4 wins out of 4 this season.
I've just seen the challenge from Pickford on Van Dijk in the Merseyside derby. Pickford clatters into him in a nasty collision and Van Dijk goes off injured. It should've been a penalty and a red card, but because in the move leading up to the incident was offside, no action was taken. Does this now mean you can deliberately damage another player without any consequences if you know play is going to be stopped for offside? Edit ... I found this footage of the incident for those that haven't seen it ...
