Still no information on transfer fee? Wonder if Bow just wanted him gone!

 

I heard the fee was 450000. Bowyer wouldn't have picked him. If we didn't sell him we would paid him eight months salary, plus releasing him for nothing. Sad that he is gone but that is football.

Interesting, what decent strikers are free agents at the moment?

 

It's in the early stages, might come to nothing.

 

Its good news if it comes off. Scoring goals is still going to be our Achilles heel this season, even with the addition of Smyth. Washington is a clogger & Aneke wont stay fit for long.

 

I heard that we enquired about Rudy Gestade but he was asking for too much money.

 

"A big step" could mean something completely different, such as moving away from family and friends. The word "up' does not appear to have been used by him.

 

Gestede is very similar to what we already have in Bogle, Washington & Aneke.

 

Charlton could do one more signing - a free agent. Lee Bowyer: “Steve [Gallen] has asked if we have got anything left and how much. If so we might look to use that. “But we ain’t been speaking about a striker. If we have anything left we’ll focus on another position.”

 

We need another striker, or maybe a wide right / winger.

 

I think they are maybe looking at a right back/ centre half. I was looking at the free agent strikers and there is nothing out there.

 

We've only got one proper RB and our only decent LB is 18, although Oshilaja can cover, so it would make sense to be looking at the defence.

 

I wonder if Gallen has spoken to the Welsh Oracle aka Reams ? He’s an encyclopaedia of knowledge about free agents (especially from Bournemouth).

 

Bowyer must feel like he’s in heaven ....working for an ambitious owner who is actually backing him.

 

He's certainly paid his dues.

 

Thats why he now deserves the 100% support of every fan for the remainder of this season, so he can show what he can do.
