If no FPP involvement I think I would rather have Storey in v a shuffle of shares with Sartori being the major shareholder but Donald still having 10-20% which is what it might sound like.
My feelings about this are that you can't always get what you want. I'm not gutted, which I thought I would be. Back to supporting the lads tomorrow. We don't know the full picture yet like, of course
Aye, all depends on the details really. I think we need people with pretty deep pockets involved. It'll likely cost over £100m to get out of the championship so realistically you're looking at an individual or group with about £1bn (because not many people will invest more than 10% of their net worth in a football club). So funding is huge. Then it's about the plan. Can have all the money in the world, Short had plenty of it, but if you don't have a plan or you can't get key appointments right, it's pointless and will simply lead to the club being in tonnes of debt. Then it's about the share levels. I don't want Donald and Co to stay, but if that's what's needed to get a deal done then fair enough, but I'd like them to be massively low shareholders. If that's all in place then I'm not too worried if it isn't FPP. The best thing about them is just we know that the funds are there, and they're businessmen of a calibre where you would assume they'd bring other good people in. They're not the be all and end all, but if it's not them and they've got no involvement, I'll be very interested to see the people involved who do come in, and what kind of plans they have.
Good evening all. Not long been in from graft, haven't been able to look in on this thread but it's clear theres some kind of upward movement re takeover/investment? Can someone please give me there bones of what's apparently going on? Thank you in advance.
Nowt concrete but some people who hear bits seem to be suggesting something is either agreed, or as near as can be agreed. Also seem to be saying its someone new coming in but more in line with a share realignment (so likely that Donald will stay in some capacity). They don't seem to think FPP will be share holders and seem to think it'll be announced soon. I think that's the gist of it anyway. Seems to be an as something happening but not what we all wanted. Hopefully whatever happens it'll be announced soon
True story...... That video was shot at necastle city hall on an afternoon, and they played there on the night.....(i was there). In the video there is a couple of ballroom dancers. I know the son of the female dancer, and to this day she still gets two free tickets whenever they play up here. Just a nice story i thought i'd share. If it needs to be takeover related, Iron Maiden fans took over the city hall that night.
Er, keep Motorhead out of this thank you very much. I know their music isn't to everyones taste, (and sadly they are no more), but they don't deserve that!! Anyway, Lemmy wouldn't tolerate JS.....wrong kind of drugs!!
ok, SD got the club with the intention of a fast promotion and sell on (always said he would not have funds for championship so doubtful he would have hung around)...at the back of his mind he still feels there is profit to be made here, my feeling about this is that he plain and simply refuses to give up any chance of profit and that is causing most of the problems.(think we are mainly all agreed on this) FPP, being who they are, are more likely to be investors at least for the present time, they are very astute businessmen and know they can play the waiting game as they are losing nothing, again, my feeling is that if they want in then they will want complete control over every aspect and wont be willing to let some 'inherited money kid' the chance to mess with plans...or they want a clear field before they bring in a main buyer. (dell?) we actually know the sum of feck all about any of the wheeling and dealing that goes on...don't get me wrong, i love to read the snippets of info the lads post to let us know at least something is ongoing...but the fact is, we know little about business deals at the best of time and rely a lot on GOM for his excellent posts, coupled to the fact that the country/world is presently in a completely unheard of state, crowds will not be returning to games for the near future and no fecker has any idea how long such lock downs/rule changes/ 'stabs in the dark by bumbling public schoolboys with the ethics of a gnat' will be continuing. therefore, i am drawing my own conclusion that while the lads were initially correct with info, the goalposts have indeed changed and changed again, so i am presuming that rather than drop all the work that has been put into the original plans, they have all sat down and (finally) reached a position where all are happy and (most importantly) the club will benefit, hopefully a little more 'squeezing out' has been done in the direction of Mr Greedy and his very nature is stopping him from realising he is losing out all the way...either that or they managed to get rid of him.
I think the Khashoggi affair had a lot to do with that... how can a blatant murderer be allowed to pass the fit and proper persons test.. On that note.. nobody mentioned about FPP being an acronym for 'fit and proper persons'... not that it means anything.. just saying!
