Was a definite near choice. Looked good on another table.

They had a women walking about giving samples of these brownies that they plan to sell as desserts.

Strange starter but still, they were bloody good.

Had been for a run before this so think I earned the calorie overload.

Good pub, good food, will go again

was going so well, then you spoil it with the drink choice. Up with Carlsberg and fosters as a larger I don’t like.

If they'd have had a decent local ale on, I'd have gone with that.

Fancied a lager and that was best on offer, I reckon it's a decent beer on draught. Pretty much one of maybe three I'll drink, with Moretti and Mahou.

Some people will have a steak on any old gaff, if I'm having steak it has to be a really good restaurant and I don't go along with this rib eye trend, give me fillet and medium rare.

Not a fan of tapas unless it's proper tapas at a bar.

Yep fillet or rump. And anything other than rare or medium rare is a crime.

Don't get me wrong a rib eye it's nice enough but a fillet is just pure meat, lovely stuff.

Yep really good. And contrary to popular opinion, you don't actually need a lot of it on your plate.

As long as it's cooked properly, served up with a good peppercorn sauce and some quality vegetables, crispy potatoes or even some chips then you don't need loads of it.

Those steaks that come out in some places with a ton of chips, onion rings, salad, grilled tomatoes are usually trying to mask a big old slab of leathery meat that isn't very good quality at all.

I’m not a fan of fillet steak. Find it a bit bland. My favourite is a t bone as you get two steaks for the price of 1.

On bone ribeye or T bone for me. If not then a ribeye. But has to be thick and cooked medium to melt fat

Agree, rib eye shouldn't be rare. Needs to be just about medium to render and crisp the fat.

IMHO, sirloin should be medium rare and rump and fillet should be rare.

Prefer the ones with fat on so rump, rib eye, sirloin in that order. Do like an occasional fillet though.

    Salmon tonight!

Except a big T bone is twice the cost of others, bar fillet!
