    Stew, broth, casserole. What is the difference? I think casserole is made in the oven and stew on the hob. Could be the other way around? Broth then it's that just local lingo?

    So what I meant is that I'm not a fan of the thinner pale dishes and prefer the gravy style casseroles or stews.

    Correct on all the above!

    If this were to be beef broth, it would also require pearl barley as that's the law pretty much.
