What does O/T mean please ? I've seen it a few times lately and although I am extremely intelligent I don't get it
I thought it was 'lots of love', but apparently it's 'laugh out loud' - which makes some of its usage rather pointless....(even O/T?)
one of my mates mothers thought it meant that, then when one of here friends died, she sent a message to the berevaed husband, saying..sorry about julie( cant rememebr real name) lol.. true story.
Lol can mean 'Laugh out loud' or 'Lots of love' (or it did in the 90's). I hate it. If you want to laugh, laugh, it's not the readers perogative to know that you laughed at it. My missus puts 'hehe' as a sort of giggle thing, which when you say it back to yourself sounds like a sort of sneaky laugh, which suits me better than lol, which just sounds ******ed.
I don't like it but do occasionally use it, purely to show that I'm joking as it is sometimes hard to tell via text or facebook etc. What I absolutely detest is people actually saying the world 'LOL!' when you're having a conversation or make a joke.. I tend not to keep the company of these people but acquaintances have been known to say it
I put 'XD' at the end of a text instead of 'LOL'. I think it's much more acceptable. One thing I really cannot stand is people who say 'cringe'. I see SOMEONE on this thread has done it.
I know, I seriously hate that. What utter twat said that? Oh... In all seriousness, and, for the record, I never say 'cringe' I just couldn't think of a way to describe my thoughts when I read that other than 'Eeeshsshi' or '*Screw up face and inhale through teeth*'
Sister says "that's so cringe" rather than "it's very cringeworthy" and it ****ing irritates me. Think she's been watching turd like the only way is Essex again.
