Football is dying and it seems that the rest of the teams bar the 'Top Six' will be picking off of the carcasses dropped by the bloated few!!!!! I would like the Top 6 to leave the English leagues and do whatever they please only to be never allowed back again. Man Utd started this years ago with Ferguson refusing to play in an FA Cup ggame as they were globe-trotting playing in the world club cup finals!! Remember where you've come from to the big 6!!!!!!!!!!

We all know the likes of Wolves, Leicester, etc, may qualify for the CL but they won't be able to win it in the future.

What they will win is loads of money to give to players and their agents.

The top 6 clubs will continue to win the cups, most seasons, so it's just Groundhog Day.

I laughed at the Mags for throwing away their last shred of dignity, for Saudi money, but they're right ...

... when people like Donald, Ashley, etc have no morals or Gods, except profit, there's not that much difference.

I used to fly back for almost half the games a season, rent cars, stay in airport hotels and it was justifiable.

Without a dream that's ridiculous as you rightly say.

Do it. Support your local non league club. They need your money. I do it (well, they're not my local club but that's a long story) and it's ****ing brilliant.

The sad thing is though, this Project Big Power Grab could have ramifications that impact the whole football pyramid, not just the PL and the league.

I usually take time to check, as best I can, any info I'm sent but f**k it, this is beyond tedious now so I'm just going to post everything as I get it.

I've just had an 'enraged' text saying SAFC 'supporting' this proposal is bluff and they won't vote for it unless they're sure it'll be defeated.

Donald really wants out, despite this current diversion, and thinks this is another way to push the buyers into paying his price.

There you go, I'm taking no responsibility for the message but it's from someone people on these forums would know and most respect.

(p.s. anyone else who sends me info needs to be warned I'm just posting it unless specifically asked not to.)

Agree with this 100%. Sooner these clubs pi55 off and we are left with "proper" football clubs that can compete at some kind of fair level...the better. Football as we know it is dying really fast. As such my interest level is about as low as its been since I started going as 5 year old...thats 57 years ago.

Problem is, if they do leave, especially to join a European Super League, it will only hasten the death of proper football.

Probably agree mate, sadly this is where its going tho'...they have wanted this for years. Covid is now seen as an ideal time to get it done..Clubs are desperate for cash, These clubs are dangling a carrot and most small clubs will take their hands off. A I said, its sad, but it looks like a fait accompli to me

it is not just football lads...the whole caboodle works this way and all these different business' you hear about almost all boil down to the same owners, if you dig deep enough.

there is a lot of land tied up in a lot of clubs, usually prime land near or in city centers (add in academy land etc), if the clubs go bust then such land will command a high price, also, if most of the current league clubs fell at the wayside then that equals far more customers for those who remain...take the lower league yorkshire clubs, if they fold, those wanting the 'football fix' will move to those still trading, those 'top six' are no mugs and are constantly looking at how they can increase their own income (not the club income but their own) being an 'elitist group' is the best way, limited to no competition locally meaning a wider area for shirt sales/pay per view/those demanding season tickets/premium prices for cup competitions etc etc...they do not want the league cup as it does not attract the crowds and possibly costs them more in bonus' than what it brings into the club, champions league/euro league cup/whatever new euro competition they devise next to maximise profits are a different matter with usually world wide interest, feck the 'magic of the cup', magic dont make pennies.

take a little here and there and slowly get towards your target when the poor sappers have little to no choice but to do as they are told...this all began with the premier league and sky...those who expressed fears then were laughed at because having a premier league would bring riches beyond belief into football, but where has that left the rest of the clubs?

What saddens me about this inevitable rush towards a European Super League is that it stops history at a certain point. 60 years ago this could only have happened if Honved, Blackpool and Wolves were up for it. 45 years ago you would have wanted Reims, Celtic and Eintracht Frankfurt,. 35 years ago you needed the backing of Aston Villa, Notts Forest, Hamburg and S Bucharest.

Now no one gives a rats arse what any of those clubs have to say about anything. 20 years ago no one cared what Chelsea or Man City had to say about anything. Now they have bought they way to the top, they want to lock their position in. ****s.

I describe Liverpool and Man Utd (and Arsenal) as mere assholes as they would be at the top table for virtually all of the last 50 years by any fair analysis. Doesn’t make it right though.

Sorry but I don’t agree it’s not just about the big six , the big picture is that if they left to form a European Super League so be it I will continue to support SAFC as I have done for almost sixty years . If they choose to leave - let them but if things don’t work out I would ensure their is no easy way back , they would have to enter at the bottom of the pyramid and work their way back through the leagues as other clubs have had to do . To be quite honest if they did leave it might open up opportunities for other clubs throughout the pyramid , earlier this week I watched a Yorkshire derby Bradford City V Harrogate Town and I enjoyed it more than most Premier league games I have watched as of late . The money paid by Sky would undoubtedly reduce but it could be allocated more sensibly and I would not let them take the EFLs eyes out as their would still be a lot of interest in alternative Football , just because they choose to leave football will not die .

I'm not trying to be pedantic, I was wondering if it was actually people seeing the obvious repercussions of given 6 clubs all the power or something had been proposed that I had missed.
