Rodwell is just the mouth piece..this is coming from Donald and Methven they need the money.. If the money comes is gives the club stability..also massively benefits Donald
I would agree with this, much like the season ticket fiasco, Rodders is just the numpty walking the plank.
I'm probably going to sound daft here like but can someone explain to me why the proposals would stop anyone finishing above those 9 clubs? I understand that they have more sway in a vote cause of their 'special status' and could block any takeover if it threatened them as the club would become richer etc.. But what stops a club getting a decent team together without a takeover that go from championship to top 4? Given them more of a vote they could down the line vote that teams that are selected for foreign TV more get extra points or summit daft but as it stands what have I missed?
What stops them now? Money. This just entrenches the positions of those 6 clubs and allows them to get richer while everyone else either remains the same or gets poorer.
So is there a proposal they get a bigger % of the tv money? Or is that just a future move as it is obvious it will happen.
Its following the exact same pattern as the first time round Leaks come out something is happening It then goes on for month and months with nothing happening The club issues a statement to say **** all is happening The last part is probs due by the end of Oct
Ok maybe not that. More like to piss us all off as much as possible for as long as possible. Making sure he gives us no reason to turn up at his big house demanding answers as outwardly he looks like he's trying to do the right thing.
No. But if they have greater power, the most obvious thing that they'll use it for it is to bolster their own financial position.
Wouldn't put it past them to be honest. I could believe pretty much any scenario with this shower of ****.
Read this, spot on by A Love Supreme https://www.a-love-supreme.com/single-post/more-on-project-big-picture
This Project Big Picture is nuts and SD is an idiot if he can’t see it will significantly reduce the value of SAFC if it goes through. First, the extra money now is peanuts when divided between 72 club. £2m at best. Secondly, the future share of TV revenue is meaningless as the extra voting power given to the main 6 clubs is very obviously so they can vote in favour of selling TV rights individually rather than as a league. So they are giving away a % of a number they know is going to be worth less. Third, the loss of 2 places in the Premier League is a 10% decrease in number of Premier League clubs. The bulk of the value of SAFC to any buyer is the prospect of getting back to the PL which is now significantly lower probability. Fourth, the other staggeringly obvious point is that the big clubs want less fixtures in order to free up space for an expanded Champions League in which they will have a permanent place. No relegation from a European Super League for the richest clubs. Aston Villa, Forest, SV Hamburg, Borussia M, Steaua B, etc lost to history. The value of the PL TV rights will drop 75%. SAFC will be worth bugger all and I will personally just spend my time watching the NFL where competition is guaranteed. Someone on this board said this is an offer from a loan shark and it is spot on. SAFC is finished for ever if it goes through, as are many other clubs. They might be kept alive just about but the dream is dead.
It's only the hope that makes it worthwhile, take that away and it's just men kicking a football around. I've said it before but this, and the rest of this PL shambles, is a typical example of ruining something by improving it. Modern music and football are becoming the same ... ... an unspontaneous totally orchestrated and perfectly produced product paid for by people who've swallowed it all whole.
And the sad thing is that our once great club will be consigned to the scrap heap by a ****ing insurance salesman. I would ask how he would feel about that but I really don’t think he cares about anything but his own pocket.
Assuming that CL qualification is like a promotion, there are only 13 clubs a year out of 92 whose fans have something to celebrate. For the other 79, it’s either misery or status quo. If you take away the hopes and dreams, it’s just an expensive, time-consuming activity.
