Speaking of JN - just noticed that some Wet Spam fans think a sort of swap deal will be arranged for him and Dawson, with any cash difference going their way. I can't see Gino agreeing to that - surely he'd expect the cash to come our way?
Have i missed something, didnt we buy JN? or is it subject to tribunal?...Dawson was never part of the deal/equation, so not sure what the spam fans are on about
We have already signed him as he was out of contract so not sure how suddenly there can be a swap deal?!
Because of his age and the fact that he ran down his contract and rejected a new offer from them, Wet Spam are due compensation. The clubs negotiate how much between themselves - but if they can't agree it will be settled via arbitation, conducted by the Professional Football Compensation Committee. Similar to the Jerome Sinclair signing I think. Wet Spam fans think Dawson is valued at £2 million, I'm sure Watford say £4 million.
The only one I can remember who was worth top whack was Danny Graham. I think we had to pay £350K for him, but sold him for ten times that.
Well Dawson has gone but only on loan with a view to buy at the end of season. Which they won't do in all likelihood
Finnish league football hardly gets the juices flowing. Always want them to do well as a nation having Finnish friends and it is on the "to visit" list but the idea of buying a Cameroon midfielder (not) playing in the Finnish league is, erm, uninspiring... unless he's a makeweight for the next African superstar. Somehow I doubt it.
Kiko wants out ? https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/18793074.kiko-femenia-keen-leave-watford-deadline/ We’d have to get a new left back surely if he left.
And we can't get one until either he or others have been offloaded apparently - and probably won't happen until the last minute, which is a nonsense. It's one of my main objections to having the system - it was introduced to supposedly enable clubs and managers to plan for a set period of time, knowing the players they have at their disposal, but here we are, a month into the season and many clubs still don't know which players they have at their disposal, and are often reduced to last minute panic buying of replacements.
Quite true. Brentford are going to lose another key player it seems for example. Managers cannot really plan can they until next week.
We are likely to see Deeney or Sarr or...... go ..... and probably cant get people in unless... some monies are freed up... crazy mess... just like each UK country having different Covid rules!!
Now now - settle down. I'm all for devolved governments having the right to set the rules that they think are best for their own countries - they do seem to outperform England when it comes to measuring NHS performance. Probably the benefit of having non-tory governments. Best not continue on this thread...
It would be nice if posters exercised a little self-restraint and kept this thread for what it is, about transfers, especially for those amongst us who find politics boring.
When does the transfer window finally shut for domestic trasfers? I thought the international one had shut - but for Russia seems not and that is where Kiko rumour says he is heading. All a bit muddled really.
https://www.skysports.com/transfer/...t-brom-agree-15m-fee-for-huddersfield-striker Could quash TD9 to WBA. (Hopefully, he can knuckle down as I feel he has goals to offer in the Championship!)
