Charlie Methven definitely doesn't sound like he's going anywhere. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...rhaul-risks-power-grab-by-rich-minister-warns
100% mate, I said earlier in the thread, a 1 line statement of anything would suffice from the club if they are in discussions about selling up or not. This wouldnt compromise an NDA and would put a stop to the endless speculation that to what we have been told from Nick Barnes who has been fed his info from SAFC
In all honesty its been a case of 'who blinks first' to save the EFL between the Premier League and the Government, The premier league have made their move......this has 100% has no chance of happening in its current format, could just be a tactic for it to get voted down so the Government have to do a bail out
I'm more concerned that the only thing us fans are hearing about on any topic regarding the club and its finances or its ownership at the moment is from a very minority shareholder who resigned from the board nearly a year ago and otherwise has nothing to do with running the club. And considering we are all hoping he's going pretty soon, his quotes everywhere are really suggesting he isn't.
media pressure. We may be "just" a League One club but probably have more history than the rest of the League put together. The local media are a ****ing disgrace, milking the NUFC takeover etc and nothing worth mentioning on ours. Posters on RTG would accuse you of having red specs on, for even suggesting there is a news bias, even when it is right in front of their eyes. Its so blatant and we need to get into them and **** them up like the good old days. There is nothing Regional at all about them ****stains
I don't think there's anything concrete yet, but there's every chance pressure will start being applied soon. How that looks and when is still up for discussion and I guess partly depends on the club, but the survey was pretty unanimous that the fans want more pressure out on, and RAWA and there to represent the fans. For me, the rumour that safc would back this big picture proposal would, if true, be a disgrace and I'd certainly be telling the committee that I think pressure needs to be massively ramped up
Good stuff mate, If its true that Sunderland have come out to back the Premier league offer then everybody who who is currently sitting in a high level position within the club need to publicly shamed and driven out of Sunderland, simple as that, should be no where near out club
I agree that something needs to be done to find out one way or another what is happening within the club but if Donald is ensconced at Oxford and just leaving Roswell to run the club without taking any real interest, what pressure can be applied?
Couldn't agree more, and have said as much to RAWA (don't think I'm alone in thinking it either). Equally I'm very concerned that there's no takeover in the offing. If they were about to get their money they wouldn't need this. In fact any soon to be owner would tell them to vote against it. The club will be worth even less if there's a much lower glass ceiling in terms of how far we can progress. No way would FPP want to support this, and likely no way would they even want to buy us if there was a chance the big 6 might just get rid of promotion and relegation before we get there. They'd at least have to get us into the top 18 rather than the top 20 which already makes the job harder. And this proposal makes staying up harder if you get there. I don't see how this sort tallies with a near takeover.
Yep, as we are all getting more sceptical about any takeover talk actually going on that will obviously be the main topic for the next meeting, but if there actually has been talks with constant delays then this would be just another brick wall delay that would stutter or stop talks. Thing is I dont want to bog this thread down with the Premier league offer but when you think about it, you may be surprised how many clubs would want it. EFL clubs need money now and not after months of negotiations so its a dirty tactic from the Premier League to come up with this as they know a lot of clubs have nowhere to turn.....Im just hopeful that it may be a dirty offer to make the Government do a bail out Also makes you wonder if the Premier league did consult 'the big 6' about Newcastles takeover
so be, could always targets their companies through a hashtag. Anything negative out in the www will help imo
Agree, looks like the DAM show will continue until next summer, then we'll have more leaks of another takeover just so the chancers don't have to buy any players other than freebies...
I dont agree with this mate, I would keep it purely to SAFC / Madrox or the football club related, anything else is underhand I would say :: Or Magesque as some people call it
fair enough, and I understand what you say, problem being these lot don’t play a fair truthful game so going down their level is needed.
I noticed the government announced a £250 million bail out of theatres, but nothing from football. Regional theatres don't have to ask the Royal Opera House to fund them at the expense of the ROH dictating their future But this does look like Donald has no intention of leaving. Come on RAWA do your stuff. There is nothing stopping fans turning up for home games to gain media attention. At the moment it looks like Donald has achieved the impossible and made Sunderland a run of the mill football club with no ambition whatsoever.
