I don't think many people will care.

The Americans just dont get it. They think a franchise without relegation or promotion is the way forward. They've been after this protected state for years, the NFL is king of commercial income in their eyes.

The best thing that can happen to football is for all the rich to be opposed, get bored and **** off. All clubs should devolve to fan ownership.

They'll be signing their own death warrant, so I hope they do. It's a ****ing mess. Many, many generations of older fans will jack this in. A few "yoot" will stick around, but these kids haven't got a brain, let alone any money, so **** knows where these owners think future revenues will come from. TV rights have already dropped by about $1bn.

It's the same old story - entitled few rich think they know everything, when in reality they know **** all. Incredible lack of self awareness. Much like Ashley's tenure as owner. Clueless.

Personally I think everything would just carry on exactly like they want it to.. The fans would just continue on as they always have.

I think you're correct about the older fans, but the thing is there's millions of fans all over the world that all support the big 6, so they'll still pay, the fans of the big 6 will all still be at games and I believe the fans at promoted clubs would still fill grounds with the exceotion of ours which is larger than your average also ran club.

There's a huge number of young fans that have already bought into to simply watching the premier leagues big 6 share out trophies rathe than supporting one side religiously, so they'll not be bothered either.

There might be a few tantrums, but ultimately football fans collectivly are weak doormats and will do exactly what theyre told.

Who would be in it? Not all of the big 6 that’s for sure. Clubs from all over Europe would want to be in it so who gets left out?

If there was ever a euro super league, I'd be fully against us being involved but I'd still take an interest and watch games if we did go into one.

Would be fukin **** though, England's best teams not even playing in England what would that mean for the integrity of English football?

Stupid idea and I hope it never happens

It would be to 6 from England I would have thought.
4 from Spain, 4 from Italy, 2 from France, 2 from Germany.

If it happened I wouldn’t care and wouldn’t watch. Said with some educated guesswork that we wouldn’t be in it.

**** em I would not care a jot. These clubs have shown their hand now. Sorry I say these clubs but you know what, that's pretty unfair on their largely decent fans and folk working at the club. Its the owners that are the problem. They've let the ****ing foxes in the chicken coop and now people seemed shocked they are eating all the chickens. This was always their long term plan, this has been rumoured for so long, and they've never been willing to stick their head up. Now they see clubs are on their arse and desperate they've simply thought "never a better time to reveal our intentions". Its the ultimate in utter ****ery.

I'm against the idea with every single fiber of my being tbph

I would only want the Saudi's involved in football at this football club if they opposed this idea, but they certainly wouldn't, they would be all for it in fact. That concerns me, under no circumstances would I want Newcastle or any other British club be them United or Celtic involved in this absolute farce of a franchise idea. **** the NFL.

We can only continue to veto every single proposal, continue to ensure the leagues continue to say no, make sure every big name manager like Jose, Pep, Zidane, Bruce ( :emoticon-0136-giggl ), continues to talk out about it, continues to take the domestic league seriously.

I like Klopp, but he doesn't speak out against this enough for my liking, he also seems to dislike the English domestic competitions, which is worrisome. Liverpool fans should be against this 100% and I believe they are, but their owners are certainly all for it.

Fight it, fight it and fight it. Do not let it happen.

If the Saudi's want it, **** them, get the **** outta my club.

Let's face it, top flight football is totally corrupt - globally.

Ever since greedy gits realised there was big money to be made, the game went to ****. It's the same greed that has ultimately seen long standing clubs fold, because they cant compete with financials of the game, with the big guns creaming off all the profits. And do those big guns care? No!

    The game is simply ruined.

It's why I stopped bothering to watch football - even on TV - and one of the reasons why I stopped posting on here for ages. I just lost any interest and passion for the game.

I've started to take an interest again, but literally just to watch Toon games. I don't bother watching any other games, especially the 'big six', the Champions League and internationals. It's all ****e.

There was a time when I could name every player in each team in the top division, now I barely know half the players. I just can't be arsed.

But I still love the Toon, so I'll keep watching them. But the game itself is not the one I grew up with. And it never will be now. It will only get worse and become more and more corrupt, with increasing interest from overseas investors.

Presumably a European Super League would replace the Champions League. By reducing the Premier League to 18 teams each team would only play 34 games, freeing up 4 weekends. Scrapping League Cup and Champions League would free more midweek slots. You could feasibly run a European Super league and the top teams could still play in the PL.

Think the main issue with it would be that the elite clubs would want to ensure that a place in it is not earned based on finishing places in their own leagues the previous season but a permanent right.

Sport has to be truly competitive to be worth watching - anything that is done to reduce competition harms the game.

I reckon they should keep it as it is.

Ffs I think it's too generous giving us a top 4.

You get rewarded for finishing fourth?!

Man Utd who have the desire to be a NFL franchise do nothing but hit top four and consider the season a massive success, it completely kills the competition.
