It’s the other way round. Thick nationalists voted for Brexit. Not all Brexit voters are thick and/or nationalist but it helps. We’ve done this one before I’m sure.

What's more important is Starmer needs to show some leadership qualities. If he supports the government, support them, and stop all the snide sniping. If he thinks like some on here, that they are a cock-up, then he needs to explain what he thinks we should do. Sitting there like a plum isn't helping anyone.

He needs to be more jovial, full of bluster and worthless slogans, shag anything that moves. Be part time and lack any knowledge of details.

He criticised the 10.00pm curfew, then was questioned on it and agreed with it. He also agrees with the 6 max meeting people. He seems much less certain since he was thumped on Brexit at the last election.

A bit of character might not go amiss. And I expect Edwina Curry could make herself available if he's desperate

The narrative is quite concerning here. The usual suspects have fallen for it well and truly.

Regardless of Starmer, Labour, character, edwina curry etc, let's concentrate on what the actual government are doing right and wrong. That's all people are interested in, not what a party that isnt in power is doing or not doing.

For arguments sake, I'm going to say, right, Starmer is wooden, no character, weak opposition, crap in every way. Wont win an election so nothing to worry about. Let's concentrate on the party and PM that are about to help people lose their jobs, their livelihoods, bankrupt the country, help kill more people etc

I cant wait to hear Johnsons scientific evidence for the 10pm curfew. It will be pure comedy gold.

The real question surely is where is Starmer’s scientific evidence?

Bob we are all in this together mate. I know that the Tories have made f22k ups. It really does upset me when I hear people are losing their jobs/homes and lives. I f22king hate Covid. I want to be down the C&S having a beer before the game with Watford and some of the others on here talking QPR. Life was simpler before. I listened to a grown man crying to me on the phone over the weekend (my best mate) All because of Covid and restrictions/job. Trust me If I could slap Boris around the face with a wet fish and shout "Sort it f22king out!" I would, but it's not that simple. They have been chasing their tail because they don't know what to do. Things are changing daily.

Only so much of that washes with me mate. Covid19 cant be blamed for a piss poor test and trace system or Johnsons promise of it being world beating. Covid19 cant be blamed for that imaginary ring that protected care homes or for sending patients back with no test or a positive one. Covid19 cant be blamed for some silly twat thinking an Excel spreadsheet would suffice, etc. It can be blamed though for these stupid **** ups happening in the first place, granted. Of course nobody wants it, everyone wishes we were managing it better but look what the public see on a daily basis and people wonder why they arent adhering to rules and restrictions.

for a starters I’d have locked down earlier... can’t say after that as we’d be in a different and better position. Oh I would have given contracts to companies who could have provided the services required and not just friends of Torys and Tory donors. Maybe had Boris, Mogg, Patel, Cummings and Hancock in the stocks... the last one is for a laugh, lift people’s spirits

So like the rest you don't have any answers? hindsight is always a wonderful thing. How about now, tell us the way forward. What should we be doing now?

The Starmer wooden thing is pretty sad to be honest. Starmer has come across as calm, knowledgeable, genuine, empathetic. Respectable and statesman like. Where as Johnson hid in a fridge..... yeah he hid in a fridge

It’s not that I don’t have answers but because of the earlier lockdown the situation after can’t be determined outright, what has happened in other nations suggest less people would have lost their lives, that’s for sure, however you can’t expect me to suggest exactly what I’d have proposed next because under my suggestion it would be different. Oh and it’s nothing to do with hindsight, I was saying it at the time the U.K. was weeks behind other nations, information was there!
