I watch a lot of antique programmes (about antiques, not just old shows) and they often visit interesting places...factories, aircraft museums and food companies. Saw one about Wensleydale cheese....apparently the crumbly version was due to a recipe change in the second world war (enforced through the need to speed up production), but they also make the original creamy version. Would love to try that.

Random sprout fact...they taste bitter to a subset of humans, but not to us normal folk<laugh> That explains why some hate them.

I’m obviously normal, I love them. Steamed to al dente, just perfect.

Mrs Jab is fond of sprouts, I only like them braised with bacon and garlic.

I like sprouts braised with a flame thrower, then the ashes gathered up and buried somewhere on unconsecrated ground. Or shot into space. Anywhere but in my house and certainly not anywhere near my plate.
I have heard that they are nice with garlic and bacon, but that's usually people lying to me or they are just wrong 'uns.

I've heard rumours that along with the garlic and bacon a soupçon of marmite is added.

There's other flavour enhancing herbs available here in the Netherlands (and elsewhere nowadays).

I think I'd have to consume an awful lot of "flavour enhancing herbs" before I entertained the idea of eating the nasty green objects. In fact I'd have to get the full-on raging munchies and even then my brain would overide the EAT command

I'm getting the impression that you're not at all fond of sprouts. You may take to a Cambodian friend's "happy" pizza.
