So you don’t cheer at home if Southampton score..albeit before they get slapped by 5 at the other end by FT? of course you do...that’s getting behind your team or do you regular match goers have a much more spiritual definition of getting behind your team?
getting behind your team..whatever that means ...has zero affect it seems because the game is still going on and results are still more or less as expected...so you’re version of getting behind isn’t as affective as maybe you thought?
No getting behind your team is offering them actual support at the ground, trying to pull them through tough periods and so forth. When you're at home, you're merely a spectator and are unable to get behind your team, compared to being there when you're actually part of the event and can have an influence.
Dw mate they all have instagrams now Send them a direct pm (sos for mentioning pms again) As zaha demonstrated, they deffo read them
True, but the sting for you lot was how much you hated Adebayor when he used to bang them in against your lot for Arsenal, then sucked him dry when he scored that goal for City, and eventually ended up going on Strike at Spurs when he was one of your highest paid players. See, fans matter bru
It was a figure of speech guise...don’t latch onto it too hard or I’ll start thinking you don’t really have a point to make. my point still remains though...the players are cracking on with the game without your superior support so suck it up and follow them as best as you can or basically get ****ed and carry on crying about the fact that you’re ****ing match day rankings are not missed as much as you all hoped they would be. best thing about all this is that the cameraman doesn’t pan to the crowd as much as now...nothing more annoying whilst I’m trying to enjoy a ****in game
that’s the way forward for the heart and soul of the football club type of fans...I mean the match goers...they should add the players onto their social media accounts and post random messages like ‘goowon son’ ‘get in’ ‘It’s me, seat 152, block F, gooowon Lad’
they don’t give a **** about your support as has become apparent since no crowds...they all perform to their expected levels and the results go as expected...give or take. Ings is still your best player doing what he needs to do regardless of you all supporting him I get what fans bring but let’s not give them spiritual status...them days are gone
‘remember when we were losing 1-0 at HT to I can’t remember who in 2012 and you was walking down the tunnel and I tapped your shoulder....to let you know that I am here for you...I’ve got your back...well game ended 1-1, your welcome’
It’s what Libby said - the difference between being a supporter and a spectator. Some will understand, some won’t.
Maybe for teams like Spurs but they have **** support anyway so hardly a surprise. You can see how it's had an effect on teams like Sheffield United and Wolves. There's been plenty of players saying it's weird without fans and they can't wait for them to return. Clubs are desperate for them too, as well hence the constant lobbying of the government to allow them back. I'm sure a Spurs fan from Yorkshire knows better than the players and people running football clubs though.
Tbh mate I actually feel quite sorry for the Slurpy's, astro's and Sucky's of this world. They'll never know what following a football team is actually like.
I remember as a Junior Gunner shouting to Lee Dixon to 'gwan Lee take him' to that little welsh **** Dean Saunders playing Derby back at Highbury. I was about 5 yards from Dixon at the time. And then Dixon done him, put in a cross for Alan Smith to score. If it wasn't for me bru, that goal would never have happened.
