I don't understand the fuss with PM's tbh. Just a way to have some real talk with folk away from the ****tery of the forum sometimes. Let's be honest, most of the stuff on here is somebody either taking the piss, on the wind up, arguing about politics or beefin' with their nemesis. So PM's can be a breath of fresh air sometimes where people can be honest with each other.

I used to chat with Burly on PM when he was going through his illness, I speak with Spurly on a real about family life, I've chatted with Tel and Comm, even had a PM convo going with HIAG about music. Just see it as a neutral ground where people can be real imo .

Anyway back to thread...... No I wouldn't watch it if they paid me 15 quid a game..... No fans no atmosphere no future for the game...... Besides the covid nonsense.... VAR is ending any enjoyment that was left in the game

    RIP football

VAR is by far and away the worst thing to happen to football recently. Besides the money side of the industry etc, VAR is an actual direct impact on the match day experience and it has ****ing ripped the soul out of the game.

I must be the only one who’s enjoying watching football.

No doubt a crowd adds to it but I’m not up for throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Quite enjoyed the pre lockdown football...seems like the players do too without dickheds shouting abuse in their ears and adding pressure to them.

The new rule changes within the game are the real problem...making a meal of VAR has messed up the enjoyment factor but I don’t watch a game and think it’s **** because there is no crowd...used to it now.

Feels like watching a practice match without the fans to me.

50% of the whole experience of footie is about the fans imo.

Yeah it's ****e, essentially glorified training sessions. Like you say even when fans are back VAR has ruined the game and removing all the passion from it.

Then to top it off you've got Liverpool and United trying to take over the game on behalf of the top 6. Gonna go and give Sholing FC my money I think.

I get what fans bring...the live ooohs n aaahs

but I still enjoy watching the game of football taking place on the pitch and to me it makes no difference to that whatsoever once the ref has blown the whistle to kick off

No need for the fat bloaters spewing out co2 to be there

I guess this means many of you will stop talking about your current clubs and crying on behalf of their performances on the pitch now that you’ve been put off the game due to no crowds and many seem eager to go and watch their local non league teams?

yeh didn’t think so...you’ll all still be cry arsing week in week out no doubt

Live football isn’t completely dead, it’s just on life support, but a few more weeks of this and the plastics will have won. Full kit sales will probably increase, tragically.

just watch the game and get behind your team...everything still counts...the proof is in their crying when their team is taking a pasting or been wronged by the ref.

I guess the no crowds thing has popped their illusion that they are the drive behind their teams week in week out. A fair percentage of them do try to claim some kind of exclusivity to their football teams over the plastics.

I still enjoying watching the games. They just feel a bit sterile without the fans.

It's not just the oohs and ahhs, it's the pure elation when you score, seeing fans going mental when their team nicks an injury time winner. Or the bitterness and rage when the home fans have been giving an oppo player **** all through the game and then he runs past them cupping his ear when he's scored.

Think Thierry Henry running the length of the pitch and sliding on his knees in front of the Spurs fans bro, that sort of thing.

(No need to ****ing mention Adebayor at City btw <grr>)

I haven’t even been watching the streams with oohs n aaaahs I have been preferring the ones where you can hear the players...you get a very interesting and different insight into your team.

It's not like the players can hear you slurping Mourinho off through the telly bro.

You can’t get behind your team from your living room mate, they can’t hear you. Some people like to live their lives through a screen from their armchair - in fact, increasingly, we all do. But it’s not a patch on real life and never will be.

Glad I’m an old man and won’t have to live to live to see the day when we are all in permanent lockdown, sitting in 6’ by 6’ cubicles, experiencing every aspect of life through digital media.
