On the plus side - £250m guaranteed for the EFL clubs. Money that would keep many much loved smaller community clubs alive.

On the negative side - a massive stitch up, led by the American owners of Liverpool & Man Utd.

Would effectively create 9 “super clubs” in the Premier League, with enhanced voting rights over future decisions (West Ham - WTF ?).

Rick Parry on Radio 4 now, doing his best to defend the deal with an American broom handle wedged firmly up his arse.

Parry did an interview on SSN defending the plan .... not once did he look at the camera, he looked like a naughty dog caught stealing the Sunday roast!

Rick Parry --- former Liverpool Chief Exec I believe?

Realistically 7 of the 9 “super clubs” will be in the PL for ever. Money will see to that. But Southampton & West Ham <laugh>:steam: it’s taking the piss ...

"Long-term Shareholders"<doh>. It's not about them, is it, it's about the Big 6. No mention of Leicester, funny that. No matter how much they get they always want more. The Premier League is becoming a poison chalice. Apart from my own clubs the results I look for are those of the Big 6 in England and the Big 2 in Scotland, hoping they lose.

Once the big six have control over English soccer I think their generosity towards the EFL may reduce considerably... plus their ability to buy young talent from EFL Clubs will become a lot easier/cheaper.

    Who owns the big six..
Manure, Liverpool & Arsenal ..... American owned
    Chelski ...................................... Russian
    Citeh ......................................... Arab
    Spurs ........................................ Isreal

    Not a Brit amongst them.!

I think it would be beneficial to everyone if the big six ****ed off and formed a European Super League with Europe's other big Clubs.

Chelsea are Israel owned as well now. Their owner had his application for a new U.K. visa rejected due to his links to Putin.

Parry is the biggest winner from this stitch up.

He gets 72 EFL clubs off his back.

He keeps the 6 PL money clubs sweet ...handy for his next job.

Cloughie always said live television would kill football. It's changed certain football clubs into global brands, and caters for a huge army of armchair fans, who pour money into the top tier by dint of sheer numbers. And the more money that goes in, the more money gets extracted by those involved. In theory the players Union should be active in protecting those in the lower leagues, but with Gordon Taylor getting paid millions, even as he enters his dotage, that ain't gonna happen.

This has long been the view in Jocko land. Fans of other teams do not attend the games with Celtic and Rangers, the results are too predictable. It's getting that way down here.

    Veto new Club owners?

Nobody can do that can they?
The EFL certainly cannot. All it can do is withdraw a Club's licence to play in their league.
Surely a veto would be contrary to trading laws?

You touch on global brands, but I'm wondering if the word "Global" will be a no no at the end of this virus, or if there is an end. Stitch onto that the lesser clubs going down the toilet due to lockdowns, and it looks a pie in the sky (pun intended) idea.

You may have blocked me, but the reply is for everyone.

The Glazers at United & Fenway at Liverpool are ruthless, high end businessmen. The Chelsea guy is little more than a crook. Wasn’t it Obama who said that out of every crisis comes an opportunity ? They have played hapless Rick Parry like a fiddle.

    I don’t like the plans.

What will stop the big clubs from pulling up the drawbridge later on?

Maybe they should just crack on and form their super league.

    Football will eat itself.
