The aim is that parachute payments would no longer be needed because the revenue would reduce more smoothly between PL and Championship than the current cliff edge

Disgraceful power grab from the big clubs, as if they didn't already have a big enough advantage.

Passing income down to be shared equally (assume there would still be league position incentives) is great, never agreed with parachute payments; encourages over spending to stay in the PL and potentially presents a unfair advantage to relegated sides in the Championship.

Not sure about going down to eighteen teams. Demands on players are lessened but so are the number of games for fans to enjoy.

League Cup is a bit **** nowadays so not too fussed but there it's sentiment as a Liverpool fan because of our history in the competition. Obviously, we've taken the piss with it recently.

    Community shield... zero ****s given!

Man Utd and Liverpool are driving 'Project Big Picture':

    - 18 team Premier League
    - 25% of the PL annual revenue will go to EFL clubs
    - £250 million paid up front to EFL clubs
    - League Cup & Community Shield abolished
    - 3rd, 4th & 5th placed Championship teams would play in a play-off tournament with 16th placed PL team
    - The 9 clubs who have been in the PL the longest would dictate its running in every aspect
    - Away tickets at £20, away travel subsidised
    - Return to safe standing

Don't like that at all, should be all existing (at the time) PL teams.

That is why i see no chance of this , in its present form , being passed as you are asking at lest 5 clubs to give up their voting rights plus an increased risk of relegation .

Read a bit more. Of the nine longest serving clubs, only six would have to agree to see a decision confirmed. That it's essentially giving the current power six (Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs & Chelsea) freedom to do whatever they want. Very dangerous imo

Everton would be the seventh, not sure who the other two would be... Palace? Newcastle?

Well Everton were one of the 5 teams that led to the formation of PL by threatening to set up a breakaway league so seems fair :emoticon-0112-wonde

Us and West Ham based on us having longest current run in the league of the rest.

It's irrelevant really as the top 6 would likely always vote together as you point out and it'd only last til we're relegated.

Also nothing to stop the top clubs changing it a year down the line...

I think we're third behind Everton and Arsenal. Not sure about Spurs

I thought it meant longest current reign rather than total number of seasons.

The entire thing is a disgusting snide power grab attempt.

Trying to use the current crisis facing the EFL as a completely transparent power grab, which ultimately will have the TV revenue share for the 2 clubs trying to drive it, at its core.

Disgraceful that they’ve independently put this out, as it’s not been endorsed by the collective of the PL, as their statement this afternoon confirms.

Yeah us West Ham have the longest current reign outside of Everton and the top 6 - both came up in 2012.

Could have sworn Palace had been up longer than both but fair enough, couldn't be arsed to check

And what? They’ve been crying about the TV rights split for beards, and they’re now trying to use this crisis to get their own way, via completely moving the goal posts of the entire PL structure. They can **** clean off.

Think they were the year after without checking. I remember playing them towards the end of our promotion run in as they gave us 6k tickets.

Clearly using the current crises now but plans were drawn up before Covid happened so not their initial intention.

Not defending them, I think it's ****. Embarrassing yet again for us Liverpool fans; it was FSG that proposed it!

These plans have never seen the light of day though until now. Which means they weren’t endorsed by the PL collective. So the 2 Yank owners have put this out there completely independently of the collective, which is an absolute shocker, as is Parry endorsing them.

Truly shameful behaviour, based on nothing but greed hidden behind the facade of ‘saving the game’.

Only publicly. Discussions between Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Man City have taken place, who knows how long they've been talking about it.

The PL is 20 clubs with an equal share not the self anointed ‘elite’.
Only 2 clubs have put their name to this btw.

The rest have given their collective reaction via the PL statement.
