No, I opted for BT Sports and I have Amazon Prime too. Not that that as any relevance to the topic of conversation like, your just trying to point score because you believe I watched all games via dodgy streams <ok>

Surely it does though, as without Sky you can’t access Sky PPV games even if you were willing to pay, no?

I think NOWTV offer PPV for sky games. We get Sky games through NOWTV, and European games through BT in a package with our BT internet service.

"Games not already picked to be shown live will be available on BT Sport Box Office or Sky Sports Box Office."

I also have a NOW TV box

    Nope.

The games will be on one or the other, not both simultaneously.

Edited, I also have a NOW TV box. Not that I'll be paying, ****ing rip off that's just going to encourage more people to seek illegal streams

How much is a NOWTV day pass? Do you buy them like?

I have bought them in the past when they were £6.99. They're £9.99 now and I can't remember the last time I bought one directly; can usually find deals online to make it cheaper or get promotions on various products offering a free day pass.

So presumably you largely watch streams now mate?

I can’t be arsed with them tbh, which is why I subscribe, but I get that this isn’t an affordable option for many.

As a matter of interest, what price per game would make you choose watching via the broadcaster as opposed to viewing via stream? As it’s this figure that’s key imo, as at £15 per PPV game I’m not arsed really, as I’m used to paying way more than that to watch live footie in the flesh, but for many it’ll just mean they don’t watch or view via illegal steam. I therefore wonder what the tipping point price per game would be to effectively make streams and their unreliable nature largely redundant.

When they announced the NOW TV launch, I liked the idea. I was hoping for it to be about £3-5 per game. As expected, it was more but felt £7 was acceptable.

It was a bit different for that though. That was only for games being shown on Sky Sports. Liverpool are rarely on Sky Sports more than three times in a month, this made NOW TV a cheaper option (£21 if it's three games but usually less whereas SS subscription at the time was about £25-£30pcm). Plus, if you like watching other teams or sports, you had another 22hrs of benefit outside the match you bought it for.

PPV is about games not on TV. Liverpool are on TV more than most so the option won't be as regular. How often are lower half teams on BT or SS? How many PPV games will their fans end up paying for?

I know fans don't have to watch / pay but you know as well as I do that following your club is like a religion and fans will feel obliged to watch / pay.

I asked the question as the more I think about it, the more I think the PL are missing a trick here from a commercial standpoint. They’ve been showing all the games at zero extra cost for months. So now would surely be a great opportunity to try and change the viewing habits of those who regularly use streams & set the price at an affordable level that makes people much more likely to pay something for a proper service than to pay nothing for an unreliable and illegal stream?

So why not try the market reaction to £5 per PPV game via the broadcasters or a NOWTV pass? It could be a game changer for them, but it appears they haven’t got that level of foresight.

This is what I thought NOW TV were going to do. I'd actually be in favour of PPV in this setup, I only watch Liverpool games nowadays.

I think they'd make more money making it cheaper to watch; a lot more would pay for a pass.

At £15, I'd opt to go to the pub. I'd end up spending a bit more at the pub but you get to enjoy the game with mates whilst enjoying a few pints (not too mention being away from the family <cheers>). Unfortunately, there is no chance I can justify going to the game, I'd be there every week if I could!

I think we’ve cracked this here mate.

I’m going to write to Richard Masters and give him the benefit of our opinion.

These are strange times, but under normal circumstances I assume the broadcasters are still bound by legislation not to show 3pm kick-offs? This is something that needs a re-think in the modern era.
Although we'll all probably watch other games, the only ones we really want are our own clubs. If there was a one-club package I'm sure a lot more would be up for it. Those who want to watch other games and can afford it, can still subscribe to a more comprehensive one.
Now Tv offer a day-pass or a weekly one, so you could watch all the Sky games within that period.

Arsène Wenger (now FIFA Chief Head of Global Football development) has proposed these changes to football:

    - Corners that go out of the play but swing back in should be valid
    - Opportunity to take throw-ins in your own half as kicks
    - Playing free-kicks to yourself

Confirmation that he's truly lost the plot!

I hope Alisson has a similarly impressive season.

Do you have to have a degree in journalism to write these reports or can anyone do it?

The advent of PPV is that it will further skew the money to the already "big" clubs in the main the proverbial sleeping giants being the possible exceptions . The obvious danger of this is shown by the history of Spanish tv rights where each club negotiated their own rights leading to RM & Barca hoovering up a huge chunk of the dosh .
They then introduced a group negotiating stance has led to an increase in revenue for all clubs but has lessened the percentage that RM & Barca get therefore hopefully making the league more competitive .

So Liverpool and united put forward proposal to make the prem 18 team league, remove community shield and League cup.

Prem will hand over 25% of income to EFL and remove the parachute payments.

would have thought enough clubs will vote No to scupper this if only due to loss of the parachute payments .
PL was actually meant to be an 18 club league from start .
