The advice is appreciated. I'd like to be sure of who it is however before I give appropriate response. Whoever it is though, they deserve pity more than anything else. Making trouble in the shadows is a rather sad, cowardly thing to sink to.
Some people have way too much time on their hands I would guess. Running around priming people with supposed information about other fans is pretty creepy. You do the right thing to ignore it Lardi. Says a lot anout the author, and little else.
Lardi, If you need to discuss just PM @brb and me .... brb gets a lot of these sort of messages because he is the Moderator-in-chief ... plus the fact that he is a Gillingham supporter with all that entails... he's not family like other Charlton supporters but he's more like that weird bloke at the end of the bar on a Saturday night in the pub who only ever buys one drink all night and makes inappropriate comments to the barmaid ... he's good people.
Nigel is pure poison, everyone except Old Reamsy seems to realise it. He's incapable of posting anything decent and straightforward. There's always a barb there, never football unless it's to sneer at ordinary fans. The opposite of Lardy, in fact.
Thanks AHLL. It's not a case of serious abuse, just something that Sandman contacted me about that raised an eyebrow. Someone he did not name has told him about a hostile (out of order) message I supposedly posted a while ago. (Not one of my posts from when Sandman first joined Not606, and I thought he might be IA or PL54 just joining up to cause trouble). I could not recall any past hostile message as described to me, and could not find it either when looking back through my previous posts, both here and on ITTV. So without being directed to the post in question there isn't much I can do to explain or refute the message. Perhaps something I said has been taken out of context, or edited, or just fabricated. Or it could just be a misunderstanding. I'm quite happy to clear the matter up given the chance, but I found it curious that somebody had taken the trouble to contact Sandman with the intent of causing a dispute between us. All my posts on every forum are available for everyone to read, and this one (if it exists) was water under the bridge from a while back, until somebody chose to bring it to Sandman's attention. I'll bear in mind what you've said though. This could be just an isolated curiosity. But if other examples follow I'll learn what I can and get in touch.
@lardiman I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s mischief making. There are only 2 posters on ITTV capable of it, and we all know who they are. Just point out on ITTV that your “background” is that you are a locally born, long term Charlton fan and ST holder, who has never done anyone a bad turn. Quite the opposite. In contrast to the other fella, who is banned from this forum and CL, widely disliked, and purports to live a fantasy luxury lifestyle in an EU country.
No worries mate. It's a trivial thing really, just a bit odd. By the way, since Sandman chose to contact me regarding this matter by private message, I'd prefer if he isn't asked about it on the public forum. That's why I've been a bit vague. Naturally I would not reveal specific details of any private message. If he'd like to tell me more that's his choice, but if he would rather not, that's also fine. Sandman has not done anything wrong. He just passed along something he's been told.

Since you've chosen to comment in public, I can ask for some clarification in the same manner. You told me in your private message that someone had alerted you to my 'character assassination' post about you. But you did not tell me which forum I posted it in. I looked for any of my previous posts that might be interpreted as a character assassination, but I could not find one. If you'd care to give me a date and a thread title, I will look it up. By the wording of your private message I assume you have just recently read my supposedly offending post, so I would thank you to point out for me where I can find it. And I would like to know who alerted you.
