If it finished now, I’d say we were short of a left back and a poacher. So it would be a 6. With what we have, plus a LB and a poacher, 9/10. New contracts for Dillon and Doughty, 11/10. Just because I think they aren’t possible.
Very generous Steve. As things stand, it’s a 3/10 transfer fortnight. Gunter is decent, Bogle has got it all to prove. As you say, and I said weeks ago, getting Dillon & Alfie on new contacts should be a priority this week. Otherwise both are likely to leave for nothing ....the familiar “Charlton folly” . We need quality in the building this week - a centre half, a new left back, a winger, and a poacher up front.
They got £2m for Bonne last week as well, so we are actually only plus one player since the fortnight started. Sandgaard is clearly a good guy , and for once it’s not a lack of funds that’s holding us up, but this ridiculous wage cap. I guess it’s going to come down to this .....would the vast number of currently unemployed footballers out there be willing to work for £2,500 a week in the current desperate economic climate. The likes of Chris Solly, Andre Green & Aiden McGeady (none of whom I would want back), there hasn’t exactly seen a stampede for their services since they left CAFC.

I thought Green started ok in his first 2-3 games, but then faded away & became a peripheral figure. Bowyer seemed to lose interest in him. You can see why he was quickly bombed out by Preston, and Villa were never going to give him a deal in the PL.. My QPR mate said Green had been offered to them as a willing and available freebie.
