Spam are looking at similar players from Swansea, Cardiff and Gillingham.
They say they want a LB, Maanning is good at what he does going forward, sometimes very good...but he is no premiership Left Back (and that is from someone, who likes Manning)

I saw clips of him playing in central midfield for the U23's recently. He looked good there, but unsure about him playing there for the 1st team as he is so one footed. Think he's best at LWB or on the left side of midfield, he is sometimes a great crosser of the ball and scores goals, but he's no LB.

Flint would be so un-Warburton for many reasons. Can’t see it.

We could pay you to take him. We will certainly pay for his transport.

In line with WestWinds R's comment I couldn't see him fitting with your playing style. Very low level of passing skills and turns slower than an oil tanker.
Is good at scoring from set pieces though.

Looks more of a fit with the Wendies.

I seem to remember him being brilliant at Bristol City and being able to pass the ball as well. Appreciate that's a few years ago and I'm guessing he's not the most pacey either.

Not sure he was ever the most adept passer but clearly very good in the air and had a mad purple patch of goalscoring which probably made people think he was better than he ever was. Not repeated that for Boro or Cardiff (obvs scored against our team of midgets and ponces at Cardiff last season from a long throw IIRC).

Wouldn’t mind him at all as a player at 31 but I’d rather have Dickie and Warburton would rather push his mum down the stairs than drop Barbet. He’ll be on good money I assume having been at Boro and Cardiff and as Bridgend says, he’s immobile so not one for our total football pound shop Ajax style of play.

seems like we are done in this window, pretty pleased with the business done. Could have done with a CD and another forward. Not even any rumours doing the rounds in the last few days.

    Really don't think we are.

Think we are still in for Kelman and Flint.
And a free agent from Spurs

Manning may go...as Spam have money to burn ..but looks as though they are buying Benhama from Brentford...and a player from Wales...so maybe not.

Looks as though we may keep BOS, who will then sign a new contract.

If all of that happens I will rate this window as a huge success.

Dykes is already worth treble what we paid for him

Just read trying to loan out Masterton which I believe would leave us with 2 CBs, one injury prone and one moved up a division seems strange unless someone else is coming in. There goes my 3-5-2 totally out the window!

WLS reckon we will loan out Masterson if we bring in another CB to give him more 1st team experience. We look short there as it is to me.

WLS and Teamtalk also say we are interested in 25 year old out of contract Cambodian holding midfielder Wato Kuate who was at Man City it as kid, and been around since, last time Finland. Maybe giving him a trial and leading a race.Teamtalk claim. Read that he earned himself a bad reputation in his 2 months at Dundee.

Said this the other day Beth - he got very few chances in his games for Scotland due to ****ty wing play, but when they did it right, he was in the right place to tuck it in. The more success he has at international level, the greater his resale value to us, especially if we sort out our wingers and get players like BOS whipping in crosses for him to get on the end of.

It's players like this we need to polish for maximum profit, either to reinvest in the further development of the squad or to keep the club afloat during these times.

It's not want fans want to hear, but it's where all clubs are financially at the moment, especially if proposals leaking from the PL go ahead.

Some talk today that Moyes doesn’t rate Manning (though this comes from the same reporter that previously said he was a target) :headbang:
So I wonder what his advisor(s) will be telling him if it doesn’t come off. See out your contract in the U23s? Become forgotten and end up at another Championship club next season?
Needs to wake up and smell the coffee! Re-sign, get in the team and earn a top transfer!

Not long to wait until the Jan transfer window when we’ll have little choice but to cave in and accept just about anything from a Norwich/Derby. We may not like it but he’ll do well out of it and time is running out for players to get big contracts before the real economic pain sets in at this level.

I like him a lot and Warburton has been good to him but don’t think he’s been treated particularly well overall considering some of the expensive dross played ahead of him. We even sent him to Rotherham.
