Darren Grimes is being investigated by the police for an interview he made with David Starkey. The legislation that he's suspected of breaking was passed under Thatcher and he's being looked at now, while the Tories are in charge again. Who's being blamed for this? Leftists. Should he be prosecuted for this? I haven't heard it, but my immediate reaction is no. Did he know exactly what he was doing? Yes. Is he a journalist? No, but I really don't want the government deciding that. Starkey's a renowned piece of ****. That doesn't mean that he can't be interviewed, though.
You know that Grimey is in the wrong because Toby Young, Laurence Fox and Julia Halfwit-Brewer all came rushing to his defence The real issue for Grimey is that there's one way to make this all go away very, very quickly: have him admit that for all his pontificating to the contrary, he is not a journalist and never was, he's merely a Twitter troll who got elevated above his status and this is what led to him being responsible for the entire Starkey ****show because he lacks the nous to conduct an interview as all he knows is how to operate in an echo chamber. It's similar to Tommy Robinson claiming to be a journalist when his bullshit gets him in the cells once again, which the echo chamber laps up but the NUJ has a cursory check of their members and know that they aren't At the very least, that will stop him appearing as the "balance" guest on all BBC political programming
The list of ****bags stumbling over each other to defender themselves him is quite telling, I must agree. Spiked, The Saj, Daubney, The Fail and the assorted Brexit throng can be added to the list of people that don't want to be next. It's good to see those utterly opposed to him pointing out that this is wrong, though: Grimes' legal issue here may stem from the fact that it's a podcast and he's effectively a publisher under current laws. Not sure if this is a case of the law not keeping up with technology or someone just getting a bit carried away. Perhaps the police are still pissed after the twat got away with being a criminal because the judge thought he was a bit thick?
Where do they find these morons? Is he genuinely that thick or is he just trying to deflect some blame from Bodger?
It's interesting how the usual suspects always scream about frEeDUm oV Deh pReSs when they're getting dragged over the coals - yet they're demanding the BBC be defunded for the ten minutes of every day that isn't wall-to-wall Tory propaganda...which also never seems to have that favourite buzzprase of theirs, "cancel culture", brought up at any point It also highlights how accountability is something they really don't understand, because for as trumped-up as the charges are, the fact is that Grimey cannot deny responsibility as he was giving the interview for his podcast which he put out in both audio and video form, which is why I say the best solution for him would be to admit what everyone who isn't on Robbie Gibb's side of the fence already knows: he's not a journalist, so therefore he shouldn't be held to the standards of one
No, he's genuinely that thick Last week he was saying that London Underground stations should be sponsored, which of course wouldn't be confusing for tourists when they have to navigate from Coca-Cola Victoria via Nescafe Green Park to get to BMW Piccadilly Circus - especially when last year's tourist guide tells them it's Starbucks Victoria via Amazon Prime Green Park to get to Fortnite Piccadilly Circus
For some reason the FBPE mob have been very, very quiet about how the Lib Dems are the true force for good in British politics I wonder why...
It's ****ing Scotland in October. Dumping ice on the streets probably isn't going to make much of an impact.
What have the Greens done recently to increase their vote? I can't remember anything from them in ages. Maybe that's it?
Following Far Right knife attack on human rights lawyer being laid at the door of the Home Office and more directly Priti Patel, we have a candidate for Tweet of the Day...
They're attacking lawyers for two reasons. The first is the general Brexit attack on human and workers rights. The second is that Starmer's a lawyer. They want to prevent any challenges to their authoritarian bullshit and target anyone who opposes them.
Are you trying to claim that Priti Patel isn't a complete moron who regularly spews the sort of rhetoric that Mussolini would think was a little too much? If you're going to insist on being a contrarian, you need to learn your limits before you make a very, very stupid comment like the one you just did
