I don't see it working tbh. If you subscribe to one or two channels and not the others you end up illegally streaming the other games anyway, which also includes the CL games. So why would you bother to pay for the PPV games.

I pay for PPV for my team bro, at £10 a throw, but I don't subscribe to SKY. If I want to watch the Prem I wait until there's a good block of matches on that I want to see and get a NOW TV voucher, often at discounted price, I don't think I've ever paid full price. They been offering me packages at £20 to £25 a month no contract. My current voucher runs out (tonight) for tomorrow, but there is no Prem on anyway, so why pay for it!
The problem was Sky didn't have CL games so I didn't bother with them and paid for Amazon and BT Sport to watch PL and CL games (Amazon only recently started doing PL games and I've no idea how many will be on there). That meant I streamed the ones on Sky and so I'm thinking I'll just stream the PPV ones as well. Having said that, I like the idea of the NOWTV voucher
Where you get that from mate? Only asking because they had some bod on the radio this afternoon stating that the only PPV games would be 3.00pm kick offs that could/would not normally be shown on tv and all payments would go to the clubs none to Sky or BT (there only extra revenue would be additional advertising they might receive as a desirable spot. He also said the PL set the price.
Think it is effectively those that would normally be 3pm as not picked for TV, but as they are showing them they are free to move them about. And yes it seems this was driven by the clubs rather than broadcasters.
I heard similar but I think it got lost in translation, as those games would have been scheduled for 3pm Saturday in normal circumstances as they’d not been selected for broadcast. The clubs are getting the revenue but the split hasn’t been shared yet, neither has any cost covering for the broadcasters either (I can’t see the advertising revenue from a handful of adverting breaks on a PPV channel being enough to cover their costs tbh)
I was curios because i have no idea who i was listening to on the radio and wondered where your info came from as it had a lot more detail.
The outcry over the price will hopefully make them revisit the price point, albeit I don’t think they’ve actually published it, it appears to be ‘leaked’ so maybe they’re testing the water with it.
will have tv there for the highlights pack. So adding a commentary team isn’t going to cost a lot. 2/3 people extra and a central studio to reflect/use soccersat as HT analysis ?
I didn’t think they had the same infrastructure there for non live games tbh, but I suppose in the age of VAR they have to, more or less. So yeah the additional costs won’t be much eh.
Poor form that we are the only club to not want to fleece the fans but proud of us for standing up to it. Many clubs have shown their true colours this year whether furloughing staff, firing mascots whilst spending tens of millions in the window. Sooner the premier league caves in on itself the better.
