We just needed someone up top to do the ugly stuff that he does, it isn't pretty or nice to watch but he does do it well. In this league there will be games where we need that, like tonight!
Afraid McCant hasn't a clue how to answer any different tactics thrown at him .. he is a one trick pony .. and we will not do any good while he remains
I appreciate what you're saying, Herr Rheinhold, but the salient part of your post is "not for the first time". To repeat what I said the other day (before this shambolic display) - As thrilling as it is to have won our opening four league games without conceding, as well as having a good performance at Leeds in the League Cup, it's important we don't get too excited just yet. We have to bear in mind that we have played three promoted teams, two of whom - along with Gillingham from last season's League One - hadn't played since March. These opening matches are essentially functioning as their pre-season, something we didn't need (at least from a physical/fitness perspective) quite so much as a result of finishing the 2019/20 campaign. Whilst we have been praised by opposing teams' fans for our defensive resoluteness, they don't seem to have been overly-impressed by our general play. They've been complimentary, of course, but hardly excited. Our first real test comes on Friday at Fleetwood, a team who have impressed at this level over the last couple of seasons and who play some decent football. It's vital that our attacking players' performances reach a standard that can impress opposition fans as much as those of our defenders. If we could win a couple of games by three or four in the next month then it would be a big message to the rest of the league, but there are some tough matches in there (Peterborough, Swindon, etc)
He isn't consistent enough though. We need to put whatever money we have left in and buy Paddy Madden, that's what a number 9 looks like. We should have bought him as soon as we came down.
Follow the way thevmanager you think is a ****house set up his team and the way his ****house team play?
It's not rocket science though is it.,Whoever we have up front, we have three forwards who at best, occasionally drift into the game, offer nothing at all defensively. That leaves us hopelessly outnumbered unless we are playing teams who don't have the quality to take advantage.
