Realising Ivor used to scout and knows his stuff, seeing his wiki stats I'm not going to crack open a Twinings English :emoticon-0162-coffe in celebration.

Bogle was prolific in the 6th to 4th tiers between 2012 and 2017, roughly a goal every two games for several seasons, but has done very little since then in League One or the Championship.
I don't know if that is down to injuries, head wrong, or just isn't good enough at 3rd/2nd tier level.

He's only 28 so should have some stamina in him. But was there a rumour he was retiring after Cardiff released him?

I guess Bogle is a gamble. Gallen or Bowyer must see something in him I suppose.
But our next (and probably last) striker of this transfer window really needs to be something a bit more proven in our league.

    @lardiman

I’ve just read that Bogle has scored 11 goals in the past 3 seasons.

I'm not defending Bogle's record since 2018, which has been at Championship or League One level.
    Something obviously wasn't right.
Maybe he doesn't like being loaned out. Maybe he has an attitude problem, and believes he is invincible because of his earlier achievements at 6th, 5th & 4th tier levels. Maybe he needs the right kind of manager to help him regain his striking form.
Or (more pessimistically) maybe 4th tier is his limit.

    I hope not.
Lee Bowyer is saying all kinds of nice things about the player.
Let's give the man a few games and see if LB's praise and faith can be justified.

We still need one more striker.
I hope that space isn't filled by a Premier League kid on loan, but there's a real chance it might be.
That too would be a gamble, of another kind.
Was hoping we could bag a real proven L1 goalscorer with the new backing from TS.
But I still have some faith in Lee Bowyer's judgment and management ability.

And if it ain't going too well by New Year we have January.
A proper January if need be, not a Matt Southall January.

It’s an underwhelming signing, but one that reflects the market we are in. Let’s hope the next few are a bit more inspiring.

Bogle has had 10 clubs in the last 8 seasons.

Apart from one good season at Grimsby Town, where he averaged a goal in every two games, he hasn’t done much. He looks to me very much like another Josh Parker or Chuks Aneke standard striker.

Washington, Aneke, Davidson & Bogle all very similar. We need a fast poacher. (BWP type striker)

I think Bogle could be decent with Maddison supplying the ammunition. He is not what I would have gone for, but he is a big lump that has been lacking in the past few seasons. I think they will bring in another Striker who they will spend money on.

I think Nottingham Forest have a striker like that sitting on their bench .... perhaps they will loan him to us?

I think we needed a big man up top, for when we run out of ideas.

Which recently has been just after 5 minutes <laugh>
