More 80th birthday wishes for the great John Lennon from me, my main wish being that he was still here with us. Here’s one of my favourites:

    Happy Birthday John :emoticon-0153-broke

I think I wrote on here a couple of years ago how when i heard about his death it affected me in a way I never understood until much later...

Here are three songs that sum up his genius for me...

Happy Birthday John, 40 years later and your star still shines on.

I always thought how this song showed a man who had come to terms with life, was happy and content and just getting back into things .... and then that bastard who I hope rots in hell (if there is such a place) ....

Have you listened to it yet?
I really like it. Got a real mid-nineties sneer to it.

Nice. I like both song (definitely shades of PJ Harvey and, possibly, Evanescence?) and the video. Great work, Laces! :emoticon-0103-cool:
And, Fable, of course ..... :emoticon-0105-wink:

for all you guitarists out there - here's a chap who was taking requests and got landed with a Steve Vai song. Fair play to him, he makes a decent job considering it wasn't planned

Good work Laces. I’ve pinged that to a few people to have a look at. Some people who’s music loves extend beyond Miss Minogue

Laces... brace yourself. Here’s some of the feedback:

“I quite like that, better than most the new **** your hear these days” - this bloke is a real 90s indie dude

“Not bad - a little chaotic and a mix of Shakespeare’s sister/Alanis Morissette” - from a real music lover; this is high praise.

“Clearly talented lady but not my thing” - from a bloke who likes his music and football but anything post 1979 is utter ****.

And finally... the one I could have typed before asking: an emoji of a dog and a poo. This bloke posts this to anything that isn’t The Jam, Style Council or anything involving Paul Weller :)

The others said they liked it

This is from a group of lads who consider themselves music maestros and if I post anything about music, it usually gets met with a barrage of abuse!!

    I’d call that a success

I lived in a small village up in the South Oxfordshire Chilterns where they liked both sorts of music. Country and Western.
