Now that the transfer window has slammed shut, at least until the New Year, lets have a look at the best out of contract. They may be past their elite best, and injuries would have also taken their tole, but would you offer a shot term contract, or a pay as you play deal to any of the following:- Nathaniel Clyne Mario Mandzukic Steven Defour Samir Nasri Mario Balotelli Danny Welbeck Jack Wilshere Fabio Borini Shinji Kagawa please log in to view this image Football clubs to show games from hospitality area's? The Telegraph are reporting that EFL Football clubs are looking into the possibility of screening matches for fans from inside their stadium hospitality areas. If this is successful, there is no reason why the Premier League could not follows suit. The League has written to its clubs asking them to provide details of how they could safely stage these screenings. "The fact games are already being screened in pubs and cinemas amid the on-going spectator ban, and that major arts and music venues have been told they can run socially-distanced events indoors, has united English football in opposition to the on-going restrictions," says the article. "The public screening of matches could form part of a 'hospitality package' sold to fans, something that would allow teams to generate some desperately-needed revenue and also prove they can safely welcome back a limited number of supporters. "Clubs were told any areas used for a screening 'must not have sight of the pitch', must comply with Government guidance in relation to hospitality businesses, and must ensure those attending do not enter areas of the stadium subject to strict coronavirus match-day protocols." please log in to view this image Leeds lining up January transfer for sought after young German talent The Sun are reporting that team Orta are already lining targets up for January, with Hamburg youngster Stephan Ambrosius topping their current wish list. The 21yo centre back has just broken into Hamburg's first team. He has also caught the eye of Germany U21 Manager Stefan Kuntz. It was Kuntz that gave Koch his opportunity to show what he could do at U21 level, and Kuntz was not disappointed! Hamburg are desperately trying to get Ambrosius to sign a new deal, keeping him at the club until 2024, but with his current contract expiring next summer, Leeds are poised and ready to snap up another bargain. please log in to view this image
Morning All, Well if you want those fancy foreigners the transfer window is closed but good old boy transfers can still happen until the 16th Oct.
Morning all f any of the names out of contract players fit Bielsa’s specifics on play and inside the head, I think they would already be raining with us. Young Clyne was touted as the dogz when he got into the senior England squad but seems he has no club because he thinks hes billybigbollox. Afraid there will always be players who on paper look brilliant but in reality are flawed in some way, which could also be injury prone. Listened to Phil Hay talking about Said Benrhama earlier who stated that he was a player Bielsa liked. We havent gone in for him because of his holiday video. Bielsa will not have any player with overinflated egos or anyone who upsets the harmony of the squad? From having not enough CBs for the last 2 seasons we now have plenty, so cannot see us wanting another. Watching Diego Llorente the other night I got hard watching how good he was, and then saw Coops last night for the Jocjs. Coops is great and hes is Leeds and he is great with the players, a proper skipper but maybe he will be on the bench a lot soon along with Alioski and Roberts. On the fans in stadiums front I suspect the best indication will be how Italy, Spain and Germany do with limited numbers of fans attending. Having a test/trace App which scans a barcode before entering the ground to show you are negative is the way forward
On the fans front we are having 30k at the AFL final. 50% and 15 - 20k at a lot of NRL games. All going fine so far.
Watched Spain/Portugal match and both our players impressed me, Llorente had Ronaldo sorted, notes Ronaldo was waving his hands about complaining to the poor quality balls he was receiving.... wrong!! when Portugal got the ball Llorente was already within 3-4 yds of him, very impressive, used the ball well, cannot recall him giving the ball away, surely Cooper days numbered. Rodrigo was on the wing, cut in and was not afraid to shoot, his energy level seemed pretty good, he has plenty to offer I think. Did not watch all of the England game, but I did note one incident, Philips brought Roberts down, he did not look at him, offer a hand to pull him up..... team mates, maybe not. Philips might be on the bench for there next game, didn’t light any fires for me from what I saw.
Think Phillips is asked to do a different DM role for England as Southgate is useless, so Kalvin plays back and sideways a lot when he should be launching the next attack
Hearing a lot of good things coming out of TA about Poveda. Apparently he is awesome in training and making Bielsa take notice of him. His performance against City and the chat he had after with Pep looks to have really shown him what hes capable of. Pablo is back in full training and it doesnt look like we will be signing Cantwell or a new midfielder, so far? But having Raphinha and Poveda just maybe Bielsa has other options?
Come on everyone - the headline gives you a big opening for a joke with Koch and Kuntz in one sentence and no-one's thrust one onto these pages?
Morning all. I watched the Rhinos last night because I had a feeling the Ireland game would be tight. Glad to hear our new signings are playing well.
Apparently last nights Argentina match where Messi scored the winner, was overshadowed by the performance Rodrigo De Paul who won MoM by a mile. Obviously we dodged a bullet there
Good Morning to Matt doc and co from a very cold Bardsey I think our squad is as good as any we have had Cooper will have to warm the bench Roberts should be loaned out The players on a free are exactly what they are worth and should only be paid on performances I am talking about Welbeck and Wiltshire
