True. You cant deny that the channel between Trent and Joe has become as cavernous as Katie Price's flange. Shades of the game against United a few years ago when rashford and lukaku drove a coach and horses between lovren and trent. I sincerely hope we resist the temptation to play Fab at CB for that reason - he's needed at right DM. Then again, if Thiago plays your defence is not exactly immune to his through balls to Mane and Mo ( and hopefully Jota too). Should be interesting if it's an open game. Probably won't be though.

Would that be the same Thiago who had precisely 0 assists in the Bundesliga last season mate?

I make you right though, could and should be an open game, if you defend with that high line again though, turn your internet off for about a month mate. <laugh>

This is mother of all battles Everton don't want to lose and Liverpool don't want to lose. Survival of the fittest. May the best team win

We are going to have 10 days of "EFC could do this or that", "LFC will not play as bad as against Villa". "it will be a great game with two top teams".

We all know it will be boring as hell and a 0-0 draw. I can't even remember the last time a derby game was feisty with a few hard tackles and the odd red card.

High scoring for Bookings and potential sending offs, culminating in an exciting 0-0.

Usually the Goodison crowd are just begging for nothing to happen. The players won't have them on their back so should actually play.

It was only a couple of seasons ago that one of them was sent off for scything down Origi after they were being rag-dolled, wasn't it? Crikey, got me thinking now.

Edit: Jeez, Funes Mori FOUR YEARS ago. Time fecking flies.

Our guy has played 45 minutes. Did provide the through ball for someone else to assist* though. And gave away a penalty.... <whistle>

    * Does assist to assist to assist count? :emoticon-0125-mmm:

He’s a quality player mate, just not sure exactly how you’re going to use him, it’ll depend on whether Fabinho ends up as a permanent CB I suppose.

Christ, that'll be a waste. And Fab won't stand up to the big, ugly CFs like Giroud and Carroll imo, let alone the strong, fast ones like Calvert lewin and Sterling. That said, he put Werner well and truly in his pocket. :emoticon-0138-think

This is where we miss Coutinho though, imo. And now he seems to have found his mojo again at Barca. Henderson has improved with through balls in the last 2 years, and Fab played a few last season. Can't ever remember Windy playing one in all his time at Anfield. Shaqiri played some sublime passes in his time (not always scored from, sadly), but he won't even be on the bench.

He’s looked very comfortable at CB the couple of times I’ve seen him there tbh.

Matip will be fit for the derby I saw, so he might not be needed there.

Errm he had werner in his pocket, how much quicker would you like them to be.

As with all good defenders, its all about position awareness and intelligence.

I cant believe people on here are giving thought to Everton having a good season. They've started well, Norwich started well last season.

One bad result, a mockery of a game and suddenly Everton are a danger.

The international has come at a good time for some on here to have a serious head wobble.

Everton are decent, nothing more nothing less.

If we lose the derby, they can shout and crow about beating the champions, come the end of the season we will be challenging to retain our crown, Everton will be pleased with Europe.

We are champions , 1 year ago European champions, we are levels above Everton.
