Now look what you've done NQD, its going to be puntastic from now on You at least owe us an explanation
The Danes that bought Charlton looked at us first but didn't take it any further and went with them instead. That was confirmed by the bloke himself when he bought Charlton but he could be totally different from any other Danes looking at us.
whenever things go quiet on the takeover front, along comes Storey with another tweet to quell any unrest. The cynic in me would suggest he is there purely for that, but I know **** all. As a matter of fact those old RTG members may recall it is my strapline, "I've heard nowt"
Well he could be! All I'm saying is yes I've heard about Danes being interested, I've no idea if it's the same ones though.
I think he has the opposite effect tbh. People are just getting to the point of accepting that there's likely nothing imminent, then along comes Storey and everyone thinks either "maybe there is something in his bid and its still progressing" or "I wish someone else would take over so this knacker would shut the **** up". He seems to conveniently keep it at the forefront of the fans minds. If I was a cynic, having heard that someone at the club is desperate to put pressure on Donald to get a sale done, I'd think maybe Storey was linked to him
I also don't think it helped the matter when both (Donald & Methvyn) went onto Roker Rapport podcast biggin themselves and the amount of money offered to Maja/agent. They should have kept quiet with their cards close to their chests not bragging about it on a media channel. Totally wrong way to get a player to sign an extension in my opinion. So I do blame Donald and Co.
I'm getting more and more anxious about who it will actually be mind! We really need someone with resources, business sense and a clear plan. I've been buzzing about a potential takeover because of being linked with the likes of FPP. Now I'm a bit concerned because the only person (Wheatsheaf above) who seems to be adamant that a takeover is happening imminently, is also adamant it isn't Fuhrman or FPP. Getting rid of Donald will be a positive, but if its just Sartori and maybe some knacker he brings along with him t, and possibly Methven staying, then I'll be very worried. Don't trust him at all. The cans might be in the fridge but need to know who is actually taking control before getting too excited
As long as we're happy with what is being announced,I'll be happy with either month. Fridge is still stocked.....can't wait!!
Some of what you've posted has been mentioned to me but I've blocked it out. If Fuhrman is only active because he's picking up a cheque I'll be disappointed ... ... but, of course, the level would depend on who it is.
Exactly. I don't want to come across as a wet blanket, and of course Donald has been so bad that almost (but not quite) anyone replacing him would be good. I just think we need to have hope of getting back to the PL. For that you're likely looking at around £150m or thereabouts. Maybe less if well ran but we'd be starting from almost nothing, no good recruitment set up, lots of good youngsters flogged. Without significant investment we're talking a decade or more, and even that isn't guaranteed. I remember the phrase "it's the hope I can't stand". Always hated it. I love the hope, when you don't have hope, what have you got left? If it's billionaire, world renowned businessmen who you know won't be coming here to tread water then I'll be unbelievably excited; they'll aim for the PL, they'll drag the club up, if true about investment in the city that would be huge too. If its just Sartori, who we don't really know much about in terms of wealth, motivation or commitment, and maybe someone else he knows, then I won't consider us much further forwards than we are now. Let's just hope we get good news soon and that, if it isn't FPP, it's at least a clean slate with others who have the backing and knowledge to potentially get it right here.
