A good result for you Swans today, still not conceded at home. Best wishes for the rest of the season but you will probably have sterner tests than today. One win in 15 away games is evidence that we are useless on our travels.

Wowzers - reading back through this thread, you'd swear that Stoke were Bolton! Chin up guys, it's not the end of the world - like you, we're very good at home, so there's no shame in losing at the Liberty! Good luck until we meet at your place!

    Good effort Swans!

Once again to all you Monk haters....Will you admit you were wrong. That was tactical genius, and the commentators (not radio wales) were purring about him.
    and not even fully fit.
What an exceptional player for the Swans, who is really putting his body on the line for the sake of his team.
Theres some egos on this board who are too stubborn to admit they were wrong about Monks...Constantly putting in fantastic performances

True but surely you can understand our frustration? Amazing how one week we're matching Man United in passing, one of the best teams in the world, suddenly we're away from home and by the sounds of it we can't string 2 passes together!! It's the same old story every time we play away. Our tactics our atrocious, Pulis has not got a bloody clue about playing away from home. He just throws the team out there and hopes for the best.

allright ill make my mind up here it is. We play utter **** football home and away but at home the work rate generally carries us through. We have played 7 games and have been ****E in 5. We have spent an absolute fortune but cant create chances from open play. All we can do is lump it 60 yards. We have ridden our luck for 3 seasond because of performances anre generally crap, and yes I put this down to Pulis being tactically useless. Im sick of watching ****, I want to watch stoke and be entertained, not park the bus and hope for the best. I hate the way he plays but im Stoke city til I die and have to put up with the utter dross he serves up. Im sick of this big boot **** and not being able to pass a ball.

WELL DONE SWANSEA YOU HAVE ACHIEVED IN 6 GAMES WHAT STOKE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ACHIEVE IN 4 YEARS AND THATS WITH SPENDING £100 MILLION LESS!!!

GREAT PERFORMANCE SWANSEA WE RIGHTLY GOT THE DICKING WE DESERVED AGAIN!!

    Well Ric
I have just watched the whole game on-line..
My views.. for what it's worth.

Didn't go too the Norwich game but I think a pt was fair enough.
Baggie's again I didn't see the game live we nicked it.
Sunderland I was there and we were CRAP and Sunderland were not that much better than us.
    Today?
Is EXACTLY WHY I said I would not PAY to see us away from home... Sunderland was the exception, I was visiting family in the North East...

That starting line up was NEVER going to get ANYTHING other than what we had before kick off.. a pt.

UNTIL T.P. understands this I will NOT go to another away game.
WHAT really ****s me off is WHY Delap starts today along with Pennant he did NOTHING and I mean NOTHING of note.

I did expect us to lose and it's for one reason.. Swansea as we ALL know play with 2 wide men, are quick and take it from me..
WILKO was VERY lucky not to be shown a red card today.. And, it was a STONEWALL penalty no doubts about it.

We pressed them 2nd half and they defended very well...

WHY didn't you start with Crouch/Jerome up front with Walters wide right Tony? Pennent can play left side and our midfield simply isn't good enough.

Too ******* little too ******* LATE Where have I seen that before?

P.S. we are NOT the worst team in the Prem by a long way.. we HAVE the player's.. it's just that TOO many are played in the wrong positions.

And, TOO many are not given a chance.. Jerome should have started as should Shotton.
I also think Huth/Ryan is our BEST combo of C/halfs.. WHY T.P. thinks it isn't is beyond me.

WELL DONE to Swansea, NO WAY are you going down. In fact, I think you will finish top half, as will Stoke because thankfully, T.P. plays differently at HOME.

WHY, I know not. No excuse today, but I want to see us " Have a go AWAY from home" BEFORE we concede NOT after.

Wow what a fantastic result and proves that our style is better than the long ball of stoke, I'm so chuffed for Danny as it will kick start his season now with more goals. giant peter was a very lucky man as he should have been sent off in the first half with his reckless play, we stopped stoke in there tracks and their height and strength were ineffective against our slick neat passing. well played Brendan you had your tactics spot on and we thoroughly deserved our win.......well there is an international break now which we will use to get our injured players fit but there is one game with llanelli to mark their new floodlights that will be worth supporting if you can make it.......

Maybe not but we ARE the worst away side in the league by quite some distance.

Our posts have crossed over mate..

But, we did create a few chances, alas when we did, NONE of our midfielder's were in there to hit the ball home.. hit the post, hit the bar so, we do create just not OFTEN enough away from home... AS for your views re away.. you are SPOT ON!.. in a word it's ultra BORING too watch.
Too those who did travel today I salute you all.. Me? SICK of wasting my money HOPING for something, NOT expecting something.

Swansea on today's performance are the BEST promoted team I have seen for a few years.. <applause>

I hear where you're coming from - last season in the Championship we had the best home record, but lost 11 games away from home. Sometimes you can't play the same style away from home. Our pitch at home is as big as it can possibly be made, I understand that your pitch at home is made as small as possible? This can really directly affect your players in that they have to adapt to firing long balls, free kicks and throw-ins further than they are used to.

And on the Man United comment - stepping your game up for a top team is a normal phenomenon. As is being complacent against teams which you feel you have a better chance against. It's possible that, as much as Pulis said he takes nobody for granted, many of your players thought they'd just turn up and win? I don't know, you'd have to ask the players on that one I guess.

Either way, you'll have better away days and we'll have worse home days. One thing I'm learning about the Premiership is that every game really is like a cup final as far as intensity goes (at least for us at the moment) - I'm exhausted after watching every game!

Fair comments but after 3 full seasons in the Premier League I don't think it's silly to expect of a Stoke fan that Pulis would've learned some way of playing away home by now, but no, he is still utterly clueless away from home. It's things like this that will stop him being thought of as Stoke's best ever manager.

Potts. We will always play the same way away from home while Pulis is in charge.

The difference today from last weekend.. we played with both Etherington and Pennant.. today we didn't.. PULIS hardly EVER uses both away from home. Which, is WHY we get so bloody frustrated with T.P.

From what i've seen today live on-line.. Wilko was VERY,VERY lucky not to see red.. some of the other yellows were ridiculous for BOTH teams...
WELL done today, I hope T.P. takes note and we get Etherington fit SOON as he's not the same player he was last season.

You did DESERVE to win it, and WHEN we did "give it a right go" you defended really well GOOD LUCK for the season<ok>

Great result today, only managed to get to the game by about 3.20 as something cropped up, so missed the first goal, but the jacks were loud and proud today when I eventually got there, real glad that Graham got his first goal for us, thought allen and taylor were superb for us.

Anyway 8 points on the board and top half of the table, plus qpr getting a stuffing makes it a great weekend <ok>

Lots of Stoke fans concentrating on how poor they were rather than how good we were. Understandable. But I actually thought there was a large part of that game when we played quite poorly too. Can't remember the last time I saw our players give the ball away so much.

That said, I thought it was a fabulous, canny defensive performance today and we deserved the win in the end. Monk deserved mom imo. Yes, we'll have much sterner tests to come but I still think we'll be tough to beat both home and away, but especially at the Liberty. As I footnote I have no idea how Stoke finished the game with 11 men. Wilkinson's scissor kick on Dyer's midriff was a shocker.
