Tracking boxes...what purpose do they serve? I don’t want my son to hate me for the car I buy him...need something a bit like a young man wanna be seen in it...nothing daft.
Good thing I suppose if your buying for your kid. Keeps the fee down and kinda force's them to drive with care. Or it's supposed to at least. As an 18yr old though I'd ****ing hate it if my old man pulled that ****.
Something, small, cheap and economical. All new drivers have knocks and scrapes, so buy something acceptable but not flash...It used to be cars like little Fiesta's etc, maybe something he can add a few mod cons to. In regards to insurance they will rip your arse a goodun. I'm not sure but I think trackers bring the insurance premium down, but hopefully the other lads might know more about that.
About £300 difference cheaper if you're a girl but you know equality and all that. Put yourself on the insurance as a named driver that will bring the price down, don't to too low on milage as that often puts the price up. 11000 - 12000 miles recommended.
Kids with mates, he aint going to drive with care. You can only hope, he does. I used to pay the insurance for mine, three hits and your out (you pay it yourself).
Cheers guise...you’ve got me thinking further...I’ll be in touch throughout the process no doubt. so far I’ve been recommended the Kia by Luv. Cheapest cars to insure seem to be the VW Polo’s. Had my eye on an Astra or Leon but I guess I’m thinking like what would I want as a young man as oppose to the financials. Will have to meet somewhere in the middle no doubt
yeah I’m always giving him the lecture about mates and driving...he seems like he’s sensible but at that age and peer pressure...scares me tbh. Boys applying to be a fireman so I’m guessing his thinking is along the ‘sensible’ range...but fk knows.
The worry was slightly different for mine, because they wanted motorbikes, there was no way I was ever going to let that happen, I was a lunatic on one. So the car was the easy safe option for me. Basically I said, drop the motorbike idea and I'll pay your insurance for a car.
Just get him the full kit spurly. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
