Please explain to me where we are going to get the money from for a new striker?

I thought Wyke was a Parky signing but I've read that he wasn't, in that case the only one he approved was Graham who was a freebie. Can't really slag the guy off for having **** strikers when he's either had no say in personnel or no money to spend.

Just looking at his other teams he has managed, he has never been known for open expansive football with flair players, so I guess the likes of Neil and Diamond will have to wait their turn. But I do hope they get some game time soon.

Ah yes. Sack a manager after 8 points in 4 games because you don’t like what he says. As a team, what would you have accepted from the first 4? Would you have been happy with 8 points unbeaten and only conceding 1 from a penalty? Or would you only accept that if we’d played 4 scintillating games where we’d scored loads and conceded loads?

You’re asking fir a manager to be sacked because he hasn’t addressed our issues. Yet one of our biggest issues was defence. And he’s done ok with that. You say it’s easy to sign a striker. I hear this EVERY window “well x signed y” from those fans of ours who appear to know more than Parkinson does about just how easy that is. Who would you expect us to sign in a limited wage budget squad? Are they actually available and would they want to come here? Be amazed if you knew the answer to any of that. Instead of “making it clear” when the stadium reopens, try getting behind the team. Who knows, it might actually be good for them!!

Keep clean sheets first and foremost, then take it from there. Big Sam mantra.

Are these you g player good enough?

People demand youth players be given chances as though youth development is some kind of lottery.

Hard to have much hope for youth when useless Ged is pulling the strings

    That's garbage i'm afraid.

2019/20 - Coventry and Rotheram top scorers both had 14
    2018/19 - Luton 25, Barnsley 17
2017/18 - Blackburn 19, Wigan 18 (our very own Will Grigg)
    2016/17 - Sheffield utd 30, Bolton 9
    2015/16 - Wigan 25 (Grigg again), Burton 12
2014/15 - Bristol City 15, MK Dons 20 (Grigg again)
    2013/14 - Wolves 18, Brentford 17
    2012/13 - Doncaster 13, Bournemouth 19

So over the last 8 seasons 4 automatically promoted clubs have had a 20 goal striker or 25%

I’ve said exactly the same about the young players. A patched up first team of our annhialated villas kids. Did the same to Newcastle’s a couple of seasons ago too at a canter.

Did you count how many times he was fouled without getting a free kick? Or is that irrelevant as it doesn’t suit your argument. I just want some positivity but sine fans seem incapable of it. This post, fir me, sums up your negativity as a fan. Counting the number of fouls our player commits rather than how many decent passes and moves we put together

No idea who this Maddog is but i'm yet to see a positive post from him/her.

Here's a tip for you marra, glass half full is a hell of a lot more enjoyable than glass half empty, This applies to all aspects of life, not just football.

Absolutely spot on Ozzy. I’ve been accused of being “rose tinted” so many times. I’m a very positive person in all aspects. Football, family, life (not sure if the order is correct). Had some tough tunes due to COVID but still looking on the bright side. I’d probably jump off wearmouth bridge if I had the same outlook as him/her!!

Marcus I agree with you that some posters have a down on Sunderland and all its players.

The problem though in defending Wyke is a bit like the republicans spin doctors arguing how kind and considerate Trump is to blacks and women. He will just go out there and prove how racist and misogynist he is.

Wyke goes out there and I am sure in his own mind he is putting a shift in..this involves him kicking and fouling the centre backs at every opportunity..then falling down and asking for a free kick. He may think of course the CBs will retaliate and get sent off. Some refs seem wise to this and yellow card him early on...

At least Graham does not do that as much and Grigg hardly ever.

Atm we are strong defensively (caveat may be the keeper), when Maguire is on song midfield is okay, but you will need the brightest rosy glasses to opine our strikers are worthy of the appellant.

Where is the successor to super Kev when you need him.

Mate I’m not defending Wyke. I don’t rate him!! Just trying to mate a point. He was fouled a few times and got mothing yet he did the same to the defender and got penalised. I’ll defend him on that front. But I’d fancy putting me in goal at 5’ 6 and he’d struggle to score!!

I also agree Graham is the best option. I was more making a point about his negativity. I’m not sold on the keeper either!!

Good heavens.... how rare and unusual, posters on a football forum who are broadly in agreement.

Whatever next? Perhaps the panel on say Question Time will all echo what the audience says?

Just looked at RTG apparently Danny Welbeck's contract has been terminated.. too many injuries (@ 29?).

Sad really he is more than a half decent striker, however lots of posters saying how useless he is, stupid/negative...God a fit Welbeck would score a shed load of goals in this turd division... wages too much for us though.. pity

Agreed, any manager worth his salt would have magically pulled the millions of pounds required to sign such a striker out of his ass. Parky out.

Perhaps if he had sold Wyke and Grigg and not brought in Graham, he would have had the funds available for a couple of pacy strikers?...

How much would he get for the two of them? In fact who would want them?
