I had a quick look round on the internet, and I could not find one Government or NHS site that showed any information to support your post Sandman. No disrespect intended, but if you have reliable sources for your information could you include links to them, or let us know where they can be viewed? (sources other than pro-smoking organisations). I don't have any problem with pro-smoking opinions; they like all points of view are open for free debate here. Suggesting that smoking is an effective counter-measure for Coronavirus infection does go a little further than that though. If your views on smoking and COVID19 are wholly personal ones, then again fair enough, as long as that is clearly known to all readers.
Now we find out that 16,000 cases of Coronavirus infections have been left off the records in the UK for the past week That is embarrassing enough, leading to false impressions being given that infection rates were slowing. But far more seriously, contact tracing WAS NOT employed for any of these 16,000 cases. So nobody who had been in contact with any of these 16,000 people was warned to self-isolate. World beating?

Will everyone on this forum rush out and buy ciggy's? Have you been in touch with Donald Trump about his bleach statement? Internet police Lol.

Internet police Lol.[/QUOTE] That's a rather silly post in response to a reasonable question. You stated that smoking will ward off the disease because of the environment that smoking creates in the lungs. You were asked whether this is your own theory, or a scientifically / medically proven fact and, if the latter, to give sources. If it is your own theory just make it clear, nothing will "happen" to you. If it's a proven fact it would be interesting to learn more.
My friends in China are amazed at what they see happening here. After a tough and uncompromising lockdown they are almost back to normal and have been so for some while. Although this week is one of the two annual migrations where workers return to their home towns from the business and manufacturing centres for a one-week holiday so it will be interesting to see whether a new outbreak starts there. The UK is comparable to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan in terms of population size and separation from neighbours and should be doing far better.
This is a forum where all opinions can be aired and argued. But it is a moderated forum and I was answering your post in that capacity. Nothing will happen to you. If you don't wish to back up your views on smoking and COVID with evidence that's fine, as long as everyone knows they are your views and not being stated as verifiable facts. I'd love Donald Trump to join Not606 Charlton, but I doubt that he will. Should he do so however, and then post his theories about injecting disinfectant etc. he would receive a similar answer.
A friend of mine was a 40 cigs a day man - he succumbed to Covid within 2 days. His lungs were totally f ucked prior to catching it. Hard to believe that all other heavy smokers would not suffer the same fate.
The way millions of Americans hero-worship TRump is bizarre. Risking the health of his aides by getting in a car with them just so that he could wave at the adoring multitudes is not a pretty picture.
When any old nut job can walk around the streets with several semi automatic guns I guess Covid is no big thing to them !
Covid is killing a lot more Americans than all the millions of guns and assault rifles they've got. Mind you, that could change if the armed militia really get going.
President Trump's campaign team are making bullish noises proclaiming "He's Back" and so on, as if this is a f**king Rocky Sequel. But have you seen the latest images of him? Trump looks like a withered shell of his former self. He looks 15 years older than he did a week ago. I doubt seriously whether the man can even walk 50 yards. Is the cart now pulling the horse? Are Trump's team going to drag their weakened figurehead all up and down an election campaign that would exhaust many fit and strong men twenty years younger? If they do, surely they'll kill him.
Premier league clubs spent £1.2 billion in this transfer window. Fulham are paying Ruben Loftus Cheek £150,000 a week in wages There really is no excuse not to help our wonderful clubs further down the food chain.
Scurrilous suggestion! To see my favourite golf course anywhere now renamed "Trump Turnberry" is a bitter pill. Hugh McIlvanney and William McIlvanney came from Kilmarnock. Alexander Fleming was educated at Kilmarnock Academy. Trump's Mom is NOT a product of Killie.
I understood that Trump was trying to rename the Kilmarnock Willow the Trump Willow in honour of his mum?
