    To continue the SD meander.
Plusses for getting some really high paid wasters off the books and to sign basically an entire squad in the place of weeks must have been a real challenge. The two major errors were going for an inexperienced manager who was too cautious rather than someone with experience to take the club by the scruff of the neck and drag us out of this league. The 2nd major mistake, Maja, the deal should have been sign for a new club but stay on loan until the end of the season.

Lots of negatives already mentioned, appointing inexperienced mates and selling of young talent as well as taking a huff with entire supporter base when some public criticism came his way.

No reasonable defence can be made for Donald's tenure here.

It has been appalling. Near promotion with a huge financial advantage and a stratospheric wage bill is not success, despite the difficulties facing the nanager at the beginning of his time here.

But Donald's hollowing out of the Academy will live on as a testament to his venality. He has a small imagination and an impulsive streak that has been highly destructive here.

As damming as anything has been his retreat into purdah when the going got sticky late last year after being so garrulous in the past. This was disgraceful, as was his needy and grasping handling of the proposed takeover last year.

No defence can be made at all. None.

It wasn’t just Donald. It was also Methven and Fox. All are still here, Donald is going, probably Fox. Methven is likely to stay but he was proudly savaging the outlay and will have been fully involved.

I think he's failed, but don't blame him for everything on pitch, which some do. I don't know why Ross starting getting so defensive and also playing tactics that did not seem to suit team. I also know we easily had a squad good enough to go up, do not all down to Donald. That's all I'm saying.

Also too many draws, stupid leaked goals, horrendous refereeing, teams raising their game against the mighty Sunderland, who were not mighty, sitting back on leads and more. Not just Donald. Promotion was not guaranteed although I fully expected it once the season started. Pre season I was worried about relegation. Couldn't see how to stop free fall.

Donald should have realised and sacked Ross after Wembley. We were odds on for promotion with those games in hand. I also don’t get it when people say sacking managers regularly is why we are where we are, it’s the appointment of **** managers that is the problem

Agree. Maja not being tied down to a contract extension also an issue along with lots of other factors I have detailed on another reply. I was ok with Ross to begin with. We've tried all types and all fail.

I agree with you, he should have sacked him though, how many times in that season did he sit back 1-0 up only to drop 2 points, then to do the same in the cup final and again in the playoffs should have been the last straw so I blame Ross for what happened on the pitch (except maja which I blame SD for)

I mainly meant responsible for the sale of the academy kids. Plus the arrogant bullshit about Maja ‘ he’ll realise he’s getting a really good deal, he’s a lucky boy’ and all that bollocks.

I pretty much agree. Lots of negatives but not all his fault and a few positives. His backroom appointments were bordering on criminal mind. Can't forgive him for that.
